Eff. How many more before this is resolved? :(

This didnt as much have to deal with Kelly as the article makes it sound.. An Iowa kid choosing Iowa, especially as a linemen, really isn't too shocking. I know he had some nice things to say about ND, but there was a lot of pressure for him to go to Iowa.

The irony in all of it Ferentz gets mentioned with the NFL every year and is on the hot seat.

If he wants to play for a coach that he commits to, he shouldn't pick a coach on one of the hottest seats in college footbal! Lolz. Intelligence fail.

The direct quotes were what got me, but hopefully you're right.

Not every lineman in the class is going to play tackle.. Bivin got a lot of Center work AA week and all signs show that Montelus will be playing guard. Oh well, good luck to him

What's your opinion on him as what appears to be an Iowa fan? I have seen tons of fans wanting to hire Bob Diaco haha.

I'd love Diaco... when the time is right. For now I want him to remain at ND. I hope he stays and only leaves for Iowa. As for Ferentz... I like him. He does more with less than a lot of coaches at this level. They're failing a bit on the field but he's putting more kids into the pros than almost any other team. He develops players well, I just wish he'd get a more aggressive OC.

Yeah, a just in case scenario. I'm still solid on Iowa, but just checking out some other schools and not shutting everyone else out."

Can't find the link just this quote.

ND would be in running for an official. He's looking around per rivals

Wouldn't he be getting back to the train a bit late? We already have 2 guards committed and looking good with tackle prospects. Not saying I wouldn't like him but his commitment to Iowa probably stifled the process for him if he wasn't really into them. Iowa would have always taken him at any point during the cycle.

Indecisive - Committed to a school and is now looking around.

Scared of competition - Look at your previous posts in this thread. Picking a school based on early playing time is indicative of a player not confident in his ability and not willing to compete 2-3 years for a spot. I don't really blame him for this. I would look for the same thing in a school, but not really the type of player ND needs.

Reaks of future transfer - Almost all players that transfer from ND either a.) were indecisive in the recruiting process or b.) are stuck on the depth chart . There are other reasons, but when assessing future transfer possibilities, these are the two criteria I look for and he fits both.

1. Every 17 year old kid is indecisive, especially when exposed to the ugly world of college football recruiting

2. If he is scared of competition, why is he still targeting visits to ND and Alabama, two schools stacked at OL? Having an opportunity for early playing time is not the same thing as being scared of competition. He clearly is not scared of Bama or ND's competition if he is still looking to visit there.

3. Really? Tell that to Matt Carufel, Konrad Reuland, Alex Bullard, Spencer Boyd, Shaq Evans, E.J. Banks, etc. Transfers should be assessed on an individual basis, not in aggregate. There are an awful lot of players on ND, both now and in the past, that fit your 'criteria' that never left ND.

Sh!t by that theory we better brace ourselves to lose Vanderdoes, Redfield, Smythe, and Bryant....

1. Not EVERY 17 year old kid is indecisive, but I get your point. When I advise kids on making a college decision, I encourage them to take all of their visits (Unofficial and/or official) before making a decision. I don't like when I hear a kid say, "I'm solid, but I'm going to look around". It's even worse when a kid says he's going to recruit for the school he's committed to and then, months later, starts looking around.

2. I'm not going to speculate on why he's planning to take OV's and saying he's scared of competition was probably a bit harsh on my part. But, based on everything he said, he's looking to make a 4 year decision, not a 40 year one. That's fine. Hundreds of kids do it every year. It's just not the type of kid that goes to ND.

3. I'm not saying if a kid is indecisive during the recruiting process, or is stuck on the depth chart, he is going to transfer. I'm also not saying those are the only two reasons kids transfer. I understand all transfers should be looked at individually. It was premature to speculate the future transfer of a kid not even committed to ND. My bad.

I just don't see him coming to ND. If he does, great, I'll root for him.

Visited Bama yesterday and visiting Stanford soon as well. He is definitely looking around. Doubt we get involved.

i am serious when I say that I believe that although this young man is good, the four that we already have verballed are better.

Notre Dame is the Boss of the OLine this year [2014].

IF Bama gets Robinson, I'd take Bama's over ours. Otherwise I'm happy with our class next to theirs. I wonder if Bama liked Pierschbacher more than Braden Smith and Damien Mama or not since this is likely their last interior OL spot

Sh!t by that theory we better brace ourselves to lose Vanderdoes......

You cursed us!!!
