I may have once or twice thought/said that Rees should start.

I commented on being disappointed with the momentum killing actions by Kelly. I was wrong.

I thought EV would be overawed with that Social Leper Saban and sign with Alabama, so I was specifically wrong about that.

More broadly, I said that Kelly's dalliance with the Eagles might well hurt us in recruiting. That was right on the money!!

I thought FOR SURE that Eddie V was going to UCLA. For absolute certain. And this was after getting some good info that EV was leaning ND. EVerything else told me UCLA until last night. Crazy. What a great day!

This has been an extreme roller coaster. I had doubt along the way. I hated that it his visit was when it was...yes the weather nazi. I was hanging on to the fact that his mom came though. Never let mom down.

I remember that too - perhaps in the Davonte Neal thread? Idk why I remember that for some reason.

****ed up thing is, I searched for it by post with the key words "tony Alford is overrated" and it was in the Davonte thread, the Heureman thread and like 4 other threads.

GB, myself, and a couple others were there to mock the person, but I couldn't find the original post

Can someone call me out on something? I don't feel as if I'm getting enough hate. I want to eat crow.

The Soup of the Day is "Crow."
Mmm, that sounds good. I'll have that.

Unrelated, but I want to toot my own horn by saying I'm 2-for-2 on gut feeling, must-have, recruits. This year was EV. I jumped on that train at the first sign of him opening things back up. I was thrilled when the staff got in contact with him. Last year, I was praying for Davonte Neal from day one. I will never lose faith in this staff. GO IRISH!!

It is the passion LAX, just the passion.

I make more than my share of mistakes, so I feel free to speak as an "expert" (on making mistakes); you have a very interesting and intelligent almost inside perspective, that couldn't ever be replaced. But you are an amateur,(on making mistakes.)

Here is to many years of ranting and raving! Seo a thabhairt duit LAX! Sláinte!

Téigh Gaeilge!

LAX, you are being way too hard on yourself. This past month was horrendous and we all were worried. Kelly and Co. Just proved once again why they are the men for the job. We are a couple months away from the Spring game and have swung momentum our way once again. There were plenty of lessons learned since facing Alabama and as long as adjustments were/are being made we will be fine! I appreciate your integrity but I don't think you needed to call yourself out. You love this team as much or more than anybody and I completely understand why you felt that way. Now quit being a slacker and give me my upshot for 14'!

Haha no worries... I just think it's HEALTHY to own up to being wrong. I think people these days way too often refuse to admit it when they err and aren't open minded to seeing other viewpoints.

So that's what this thread is for. If you said something stupid earlier this year, and you want to laugh at it now, this is the place! A little self deprecation never hurt anyone :)

At the beginning of the season, I thought the 2012 Irish were going to be an 8-5 team at best a 9-4 team. I was completely wrong. Though I still stand by that I would rather have the team win a BCS bowl rather than lose in the NCG.

Two days ago I engaged in a debate in EV's thread, after I had decided that EV was a luxury rather than a need. However, after landing him and looking at what the d-line would've been like in two years without him, I realize that he was much more of a need than I realized.

In LAXs original post, he mentioned that we did not even make his original top 15... this is where my "luxury" thought came from. I didn't think we had a great chance at him even after the good vibes late in the process, so landing him would've been an unexpected surprise to me, hence a luxury. However, it is clear that an elite d-lineman of EV's caliber was needed... and we got him! Delicious crow realizing the need that he truly fills.

I say stupid stuff all the time, but I'm like a shut down corner, I have no memory of it happening.

Aside from all that I get what your saying and appreciate it. As a society we really don't take responsibility anymore and it's nice to see that people still can.

I did a rough calculation, I am wrong about twenty-five times a day. (On a good one.) So I don't know how many of them occur on this site but I could be ahead of you 18,137 to 1!
