Brian Kelly said that he didn't want to name an under-the-radar guy during the presser because there are 4-5 five that he thinks are more talented than their rankings.

Just because Brian Kelly didn't want to say who's on his list doesn't mean we can't speculate though.

So who you got?

My list:

Corey Robinson
Cole Luke
Will Fuller
Isaac Rochell
Hunter Bivin

Kinlaw
Deeb
Robinson
Fuller
Rochell

Basically the guys he called steals during his presser without calling them "under the radar"

I think Rochelle and deeb are going to be really good players for the Irish in the next few years. I think Rochelle is going to be a bad ***.

Kinlaw is one name I keep hearing the staff throw out. Him playing QB in high school kind of masked his potential DB ability. It make take a year or two but he sure looks smooth on the field.

I think (in a way) that Folston is underated. I must have watched his videos 4-5 times and am just amazed at his instincts and his aggressiveness. He get's it. I think he's close to the top (5th-6th) in the class.

I have a hard time calling Bivin, Rochell or Luke "underrated".

At 0.9531, Bivin is a high 4:s:.
At 0.9459, Rochell isn't far behind him.
And at 0.9325, Luke is a solid 4:s:.

One could definitely say these guys have flown under the national radar, but that has more to do with media attention than ratings.

I think Kinlaw, as an overall athlete, is incredibly underrated. Hope he can stay healthy.

For offense I think Onwualu is one of those guys who is flying under the radar and has the ability to be a bigger contributor than his "stars" indicate. He has "very good" traits accross the board even if one singular trait doesn't wow you... speed, size, athleticism, strength, etc... a lot of times that adds up to a dominant college player.

I have no idea what to think of our OL. All of them are rated very high by at least one service... so is that service right? Or are they closer to the average?

How about most overrated? I'd say Devin Butler... a guy from my very own neck of the woods. Staff loves his length and versatility. He's rated highly by a couple services. Some other services have him realllly low. He performed well in camps. But he just doesn't strike me as having the top end speed you look for in a DB. Maybe I'm wrong and he becomes the next Richard Sherman... that's the fun of recruiting... you never know.

He's our 5th lowest rated recruit. Barely in the 4:s: range. And you think he's overrated? Yeesh.

If Hunter comes back to 100%, I'll choose him as my most underrated.

Smythe and Heuerman, despite both being top-10 TEs, are rated 0.9056 and 0.9040 respectively (low 4:s:s). I think at least one of them is likely to turn into a star and out-perform his initial rating.

I think you're right, but we'll see. Everyone thought Rabassa was such a steal too, but based on what little we've heard, he's not cracking the 2-deep next year.

Coaches considered Deeb the most underrated player in the country...I tend to agree with them. He's a beast and could do great things. He's a big-time inside linebacker. i wouldn't ever expect a freshman to start, so not saying that...but he will make an impact during his career.
But you're right...sometimes a kid just never translates into the college game. Tyler Stockton, Deion Walker, Dayne Crist, Duval Kamara, James Aldridge, etc. So only time will tell. Just really excited about this entire class!

i really love Smythes tape.
i see a potential eifert there.

also love Folston.
have for the whole cycle (as an RB not a DB as some have suggested).
he was #1 on staff board when this all started right?

Zaire could the ultimate steal of this whole cycle. has all the potentail to do huge things in our offense.

i think corey robisnosn may be a little overated (due to name recognition maybe?) and the kids razor thin-he needs to add some lb's

also am holding off on crowning Deeb the next Urlacher.

still love ALL of them!

I think robinson is going to be a better player than alot of people expect. Tall and has pretty good speed.
