Doesn't sound like it as of right now.

@EricNahlin
According to @RivalsJason Dontre Wilson will visit OSU next weekend. I was told he'd visit UT during the week. That from DeSoto HC C. Mathis

@EricNahlin
Mathis tells me Dontre Wilson will visit Ok St the weekend after the Ohio State visit (1/25). UT visit will happen during the week.

I hate urban as much as the rest but he probably turns this kid into a big time player in his system. They have quietly got a good QB RB combo with Wilson and Barrett

lol lot of recruitniks on twitter making fun of Wilson because he said he was committing to "the University of the Ohio State". Not the sharpest knife in the drawer by all accounts.

This happens all the time. We've had commits call us Notre Dame University before. **** happens.

nah, I think he's sticking with OSU. Urban sold him on his ability to get two Harvins on the field at once.

I've actually hear Urban is leaning towards unveiling the vaunted 11 Harvin offense next year.

Speed kills.

Gotta get all those Southern Speedy Athletes to combat that legendary speed the likes of Minnesota, Purdue and Illinois have on D, oh wait...

Ohio State’s Urban Meyer showed nothing but Florida highlights with Percy Harvin when trying to woo DeSoto RB Dontre Wilson | High School Sports Blog

DeSoto running back Dontre Wilson said that Ohio State coach Urban Meyer didn’t really try the hard sell when he took his visit to Columbus, Ohio.

“He just acted like I was already going there,” Wilson said. “He showed me the plays that we’d be running, how I was going to fit in.”

Wilson said that when Meyer took him to the film room – he didn’t show him any Ohio State plays from last year.

“It was all Florida highlights,” Wilson said.

Not just any Florida highlights, either, but those from former Gator and current Minnesota Viking Percy Harvin. Wilson said that Meyer told him he would be utilized in the same fashion as Harvin.

Under Meyer for three seasons at Florida, Harvin finished with 1,929 yards receiving and 1,852 yards rushing, one of two FBS receivers since 1996 to combine for over 1,500 yards in each category.

I wonder if Urban Meyer has accidently called one of the recruits by the wrong name when pulling out the Percy Harvin footage.

I wonder if Dontre's film room session went something like this:

We here at Theeeeeeeeeee Ohio State University plan on using you in our offense just like I used Percy in my offense at Florida.

How does that sound Jalin urr Ezekiel urr James urrr Corey urr , what's your name again? Oh yeah, I remember now, how does that sound Dontre?

What you said is a testament to how little parents and recruits follow the recruiting of their favored schools. If they did a little bit, instead of focusing on themselves solely, Meyer would look like the douche he is. He would get exposed instead of exploiting kids.

He's such a god d-mn liar.

We probably give Meyer too hard a time for this. We did the same thing this year with Theo Riddick. We told both RBs, Torii Hunter, and probably numerous other players that we'd use them like we used Riddick this year.

I propose from now on, mods put "The next Percy Harvin" next to any recruit's name that verbals or signs at OSU.

Dontre Wilson (The Next Percy Harvin)
Jalin Marshall (The Next Percy Harvin)
Mike Mitchell (The Next Percy Harvin)
Billy Price (The Next Percy Harvin)
Vonn Bell (The Next Percy Harvin)

You get the picture...

The closer comparison would be if Kelly drug out tape of Mardy Gilyard at Cincinnati and told recruits that he planned on using them in the same way.

Somehow I don't think that's gonna happen.

Say what you want about Urban, but he can definitely coach and recruit with the best.

He absolutely did that with Chris Brown.

The issue isn't the coaches do this. Our own staff does it, as pointed out above. The problem is that Meyer does this with Every single one of his offensive recruits (sans OL). It's pathetic. And kids for whatever reason eat this up. It's one thing to show a recruit how they'll be utilized and perhaps pull out some tape of an ex-player. But Meyer seems to do this with everyone. It's just annoying.

I'm skeptical that Kelly did that to recruit Chris Brown to ND.

I did find this tweet on February 7th 2012 a full 6 days after signing day where to me it sounds like Chris was just told that he would be used in a similar way to Gilyard. If you are telling me Kelly dug out tape of Gilyard during the recruiting process, I can't disprove that.

I wonder what Meyer would say to offensive skill position players if Piercy Harvin was never so great.

He's still one of the best coaches there are, if not the best, but he uses this way too much.
