Very cool, I can only imagine what they were thinking. "****, we didn't hide the body"

Really enjoy seeing walk-ons get scholarships, especially in cool ways like that. Way better than the way USC gives scholarships to recently paroled players.

@HustleBelt: The UMass faculty wants to discuss a proposal to move football back to FCS. To be a fly on the wall of that meeting.

The Atlantic 10 is trying to position itself to absorb the basketball-only Big East schools (maybe not likely but certainly not unfathomable). In that scenario, the A10 would have 21 schools and would have to shed some weight. It would make sense for them to preemptively shed UMass because they would be the only FBS team in the conference and therefore a threat to bolt. In addition, the transition hasn't gone well on the field, nor have they generated any buzz in the market. They are playing more than 2 hours from their campus. It seems weird that they would be ready to pull the plug this early, but making the jump in the first place was hair brained.

For real? I'm not familiar with their campus and whatnot? Where are they playing? That seems insane to plan for that ahead of time and expect to draw any kind of new excitement, at least from the population on or around campus.

Right. It's kind of ridiculous. And BC struggles to sell tickets. Imagine how hard it must be for UMass. It's not even like Foxboro's that easy to get to, either. Like Rhode said, the whole thing has always seemed at least half baked.

Edit: Apparently Deion had 60 catches 667 yds and 3 TD this year. Happy for him.

Did I see a fireman's carry in there?? wtf

Agree, what a stupid idea. Why would you have untrained football players in wrestling wrestle each other. that will only end poorly. Make combatives in football skills, in pads, not wrestling or boxing. Good way to easily hurt players singificantly.

i would have no problem with the boxing with headgear as long as players of similar weight and experience were matched up together but the wrestling was just plain dumb.

Wrestling is a pretty damn safe sport.

The boxing is sorta stupid though. They have gloves and helmets so it's safe, just weird.

I can admire the desire to make the players tougher though, and generally don't have a problem with that video.

Not quite sure what UMass's expectations were for the first two years.

I mean, I guess they didn't see enough in a future outlook, because if they thought he'd have them in a bowl in Year Two, I have some magic beans to sell them.

Why no reunion at ND? I think he would fit right back in, unless he left on bad terms.

My (hazy) understanding is that Molnar was basically forced out. Wasn't running the offense the way Kelly wanted it to be run.

Gotcha. I recall that a little too. Would love Jeff Quinn back...to bad Buffalo is on the upswing, but hope they continue.

We'll find someone who can help to put points on the board.
