Since both sites are reading each other's threads and critiquing the comments of the other side, maybe we should create an ND/TAMU board and duke it out head-to-head.

Let's make football teams out of our posters and do it that way.

anyone in here care to tell me what is so special about teo?

Aside from his leadership and athletic ability?

I doubt we'll ever see this from him:

I recognize this will be as productive as ma$turbating with a cheese grater, but I gotta weigh in here. I'm as keen on our guy (Manziel) winning it all as you guys are about yours, but the facts don't lie.

Te'o's a wonderful story and no-doubt-beyond-question a wonderful person. He's inspirational to his team, hard-working, a great role model for those whose parents don't fill the bill, and he's risen above tragic personal events to serve his team and his university with excellence on the football field as well as the classroom.

So give him a Nobel Peace Prize. He's doubtlessly done more to earn it than our beknighted Commander-in-Chief did. Te'o hasn't, however, by any objective measurable, done enough to earn the Maxwell -let alone the Heisman.

He's not among the top 100 players in college football this year in solo tackles, fumbles forced, TFL's or sacks. Not in the top 100. He is, though, 59th in the country in total tackles. 59th. How can you guys even think he belongs in the conversation? Because he's inspirational? Because he's a nice guy? For real?

Manti Te'o is a good player and a great person. Given. But he's not the best player in college football. He's not even the best linebacker in college football. Sorry, folks- the best player in college football this year is a kid from Kerrville, Texas, and he plays for Texas A&M.

You guys think its funny now...if Manti wins the Heisman that board will literally explode.

Personally don't think he will. Manziel appears to have it wrapped up, but Manti is playing for a championship and that's all that really matters.

if nd was in sec, you will finish behind bama, lsu, georgia, florida,a&m, and sc. the only reason teo is winning awards is because the media desperately wants to talk about a nd hero.#geaux tigers

You honestly HAVE to look past statistics to understand how great a player Manti is.

They say numbers never lie, but they can sure as hell be misleading.

Darnit Pham, was really looking forward to placing a wager with our new member over when LSU would pass that "mythical" 50 yard line.

Statistics don't measure the greatness of any one player. You conveniently left out the INTS. How very objective of you. You know better than the people who voted on the award? That's what you're saying?

When teams don't run very many plays against you it is rather tough to rack up tackles, no?

Why should Manziel be in the convo when he laid a turd against 2 of 3 good teams he played? Why is he more deserving than Klein? Why should half of the Heisman's mission statement be ignored?

I'd wager a bet that half of these butthurt Aggie fans had no clue who Manziel was 2 months before the season started.

not only does the name openly drive other bases nuts, but tonight is exhibit A as to how good ole Svo nailed it.

This. look at the numbers deeper though, some things stick out, ND is lowest in the FBS in runs against, with 351, Manti is a huge part of that fear/inability of runnign the ball.

Manti is elevating everyone elses play by being schemed against, also, i love a guy like Kuechly, tackling machine but the guy was alone so of course he racked up crazy stats...

Wonder if all the Manziel love would have been the same if he had gone to Oregon, where he was originally committed to. Methinks the SEC fans label him as a Chip Kelly creation then, rather than the next coming.

Te'o isn't the best LB in college football. Manziel isn't the best QB either. Weird year for football. Both do/don't deserve it.

I'm only giving it to Te'o, because if A&M had beat either UF or LSU (two games where Manziel played terribly-a Heisman doesn't do that) than they would have won the SEC West and played GA for the right to play ND in the championship. Manziel's "down" games cost him the championship. Te'o's didn't.

I'd say 60-70% just my opinion.

I would say that you are accurate.

What's so funny is that in ****tard's post he says that the Heisman deserves to go to: and proceeds to rattle off Manziel's hometown.

Gimme a ****ing break.

Shut it Aggie fans, you guys are the hot girl's friend that everyone talks to so they can get a shot at the hot girl.

I don't have the stats or quotes on hand but:

1) Notre Dame's defense was on the field for very little time (near the least in the country) therefore less opportunities for tackles, teams weren't haven't 80 yard 15 play drives that Manti could rack up tackles on. NDs defense got off the field quickly and the offense ran down the clock with long drives.

2) ND had other star defenders. Stephon Tuitt is a 1st/2nd team All-American, Louis Nix is one of, if not the top NG in the country, Zeke Motta is one of the top safeties and everyone, even the CBs, are solid tacklers on the D.

3) players/coaches have been quoted saying they game planned around and away from Te'o, compare that to recently Alabama ran right at Jarvis Jones.

4) Manti's stats vs MSU, UM, OU, Stanford and USC

47 tackles (9.4 per game), 4 INTs, and 1 sack

The second you try to argue stats in football for a non-QB, RB, or WR is when you lose credibility. This isn't baseball which is entirely stats because stats can be perfected. Football is a team sport and a complex game.
