I thought he was out with an injury, I'm prob wrong. Point is, KR has been a huge surprise!

Agree there man. I thought he'd be decent based on his athleticism, but to be so good at a new position so early...

Russell is a special kid.

This kid has incredible work ethic and plays with focus and intensity week after week. There's no way he isn't going to develop into a fantastic corner.

Most surprising thing to me is his tackling ability. Incredible for a vonverted RB.

I believe I was the guy who caught some flak right after he was recruited saying is he didn't work out at RB, he'd be a good DB?

So... For clarity purposes... I'm drunk as sh!t right now....

Any thought on KRizzle taking punts? The kid is incredibly athletic and I can't imagine anyone questioning his ability of "not letting the situation being too big for him".

Now, I have no doubt in Neal becoming a huge playmaker for us in the future. But let's be real.... Neal has been a liability over the last two games in the return game. I have no allusions that any player on our roster would be able to overcome our lack of desire to set up blocking for our punt return game, but does anybody believe that KRizzle would let punts roll by him 20 yards?

Just typin'.....

I have no idea what KeiVarae would be like on punt return, but I have a feeling that if you asked him to play QB that he would find a way to get it done. He and Farley are 'football players'. They can do anything and everything out there and do it well.

That said, I still like Neal back there. I can't get the vision of him busting a huge return out of my head. Decision making in Neal's situation can be as easy to fix as chewing him out in the film room and telling him that if one more punt rolls by him in that fashion that he will run sprints until Kelly is tired.

And in case I wasn't clear, KeiVarae is a baller

Sampson said some sort of head injury. Coach Kelly didn't specify. Pete speculated concussion type symptoms.

The hit he made that popped the ball out for what should have been a fumble was tremendous! Hope he is ok and can suit up soon. Russell is for real!

We are talking biggest surprises in another thread... I said the secondary... Most specifically, this kid... One of the best surprises ND has had in years... He WAS everyone's weak link to start the year,... Now? One of our surest tacklers and at worst above average in coverage...

This kid is huge in terms of team success this season, hats off.

LMAO, the guy on ESPN's Highlight Express didn't even bother to try and pronounce his first name. Just said "Russell" when they showed the interception.

No way we are here without him... He has NOT been lights out or overwhelming but he has done TONS more than was expected... And above all there is no way our boys are here without him... If ND wins on the seventh Ill thank the heavens for this kid... In fact ill do it now anyway.

ND wouldn't have goal line stands without Russell's early tackles in the end zone.

Somebody has to set the table.

I don't think I've ever seen penalties used so effectively to prevent scores.
