USC has played two teams with winning records. They lost both games.

That's nuts!

We know they're talented, but they're equally cocky. Saw it yesterday against Arizona - they think they can come into any game with their flashy receivers and quarterback, and their dbag coach, and win any game on that alone.

Can't wait to see what they try to do against a stifling defense on Nov. 24th.

I haven't watched USC extensively this season, but I did watch almost the entire game versus Arizona. The Trojans, for all their offensive stats, just couldn't close the deal. That, I believe, will be a big intangible factor against the Irish.

Notre Dame has been very clutch this year, not putting up crazy numbers (Navy & Miami excluded) but getting it done and making the key plays. USC seems the opposite, anti-clutch, if you will. They rack up the numbers but USC just can't gut it out against physical teams. So even if the Trojans come out with guns blazing I think that the Irish ability to play to the end and seal the deal will be a deciding factor.

The shear amount of USC fans who still have faith in their team is astounding. I just got done talking with a buddy of mine who went to USC (and got me great tickets for the game!!! who else is going???) and frankly... you have to be a blind USC homer to think this team is even good right now. Prolific offense? Absolutely.

But they are beyond poorly coached. They have no attention to detail, blow assignments, don't tackle well, don't play with any mental toughness... they are a reflection of their head coach and the anti-Notre Dame right now.

Unless they radically correct their problems (which they did last year right around the time when they played us... they were a completely different team over the second half of the season then they were in the first... including a whipping of us when we were heavy favorites + a victory over Oregon) they won't beat us. They simply won't do it. They might even get to 28+ points but there is no way that their defense stops the offense we put on the field last Saturday. We will pound the ball on the ground, control the clock, and ultimately get the victory.

But if their defense steps up... man, could totally be a different story. Definitely loseable game at that point if their defense kicks it up a notch. But right now there is nothing on their resume (their best wins being Syracuse, Washington, and Utah... none of which by even 2 TDs) that indicates they're a team capable of playing tough D for 4 quarters or even winning a shootout over an above average team.

Just the facts. Maybe one of the biggest squanderings of talent I've ever witnessed in sports. Lane Kiffin is possibly the worst coach in America.

"No doubt a great win for ND, but OU lost to K State and ND at home. They simply aren't that good. The Big 12 is suspect, a lot of terrible defenses.

ND looks good but there are 5 teams in the Pac12 who could or would beat ND. Oregon, Oregon St (compare BYU games) Arizona (compare Stanford games) USC, and 1 team who already beat them until the refs intervened.

It will be just like playing Az or Stanford except SC will be at home, which hopefully will be enough to turn the L's to a W."

Hilarious. And this tool goes on and on about how Stanford were "robbed" and actually beat Notre Dame. Talk about delusional.

Last I checked Stanford was still down a touchdown before the final play :), and they certainly didn't give indisputable evidence that they weren't down before the arm was extended...not to mention the whistle was already blown. Despite NCAA saying the right call was made...we'll have to endure these insufferable idiots for the rest of the year. It'll be their Bush Push, except the right call was actually made this time.

What a difference two months make.

Watching ND play...

Contest winner for stupid posts and being wrong about everything.

I think we will match up fine with ND. We are not a great running team. It has been several years since Reggie and Lendale that we had an effective running game. ND's game plan is to put as much pressure on Matt. They will probably send the house. Expect Manti Teo to be in our backfield alot. Matt has got to get rid of the ball fast. Play action will only work if we get the run going. ND's DBs are not that great. So I think we can pass on these guys. I have a feeling we will beat these guys.

Really, ya don't say?

No, not so much. We only need to send 3...maybe 4 against the condoms to keep pressure.

Can't argue there.

Ya, he will need to, good luck with that.

Key phrase being "if we get the run going." Again, good luck with that, you don't have a good running game by your own admission.

People keep saying this, but outside of giving OU the under passes, I've been surprised that this hasn't happened. I will say that USC will have the best WR group we've faced I think.

Haha, no.

IMO that one isn't even that bad. Just a fan who thinks his team will win. Did you guys read our board before the game last year??? We all look like fools now. USC can absolutely win this game...anything goes in college football. We BARELY beat Purdue and BYU...let's not start thinking this team is invincible.

The idiot who talked about Stanford gets the award for Idiot of the Year. Now THAT dude is a friggin' moron.

I believe it is the same idiot, but that NcaaAssassin poster is posting out of the middle part of his username. He claims that ND hasn't beaten a team since 1996 that was ranked in the Top 10 at the end of the year. Someone should point out to him that ND soundly beat MSU last year who finished 10th in the Coaches Poll. When this moron inevitably posts that the AP poll is the standard, someone should then ask him if he doesn't recognize USC's claim to the 1978 championship (where Bama was voted champion by the AP and USC won the Coaches poll).

ND also beat Michigan in 2002 (a little closer to his 1996), and they finished 9th in both polls.

Hate to say it, but might have to go for USC to beat Oregon this weekend.

Yeah... I'll be rooting for USC... but it's almost a win-win... if USC loses, they've had a sucky season and have yet to beat a team with a winning record 2/3 of the way into the season... which is downright laughable for a pre-season #1.

If they win, Oregon is taken care of and our end of the season game can have some serious cache, and all we'll need to do is beat the Trojans to get into the title game.

Yep need the two of the unbeaten teams to lose. This would be the first step and would help out improve the status of the game at the end of the season.

I have said many times I would never root for SC unless it helped us get to a title game...

it'll be my first time, but I'll be rooting for them.

Keep in mind, beating Oregon could put them on some momentum-upswing in which they actually start playing up to their talent...That may be bad. I might just want to kick them while they're down.

USC could finish 8-5 if they play in the Pac-12 title game. What a disastrous season.

Either way, praying they take down Oregon either this week or in said conference title game.

Although USC has an idiotic coach they still have tons of talent and let's not forget what happened last year! We were pretty cocky going into that game and they dominated. I expect us to win but let's be realistic... this could be a very tough game for us.

Yeah, that is totally it.

@InsideUSC USC WR Robert Woods said the Trojans commit so many penalties because they have too much pride

LOL! How 'bout they are an undisciplined team taking on the personality of their coach, a petulant child? Could that be why?

It's become clear this year that Lane is not a great head coach and I love it.
