Says that Mackensie played only one series in his most recent HS game. Coach declined to comment on why, but it does not seem to be injury related. Left quickly after game for official visit to Texas A&M, also mentioned Florida State, Clemson, Alabama, and us among his "short list."

Don't wanna read too much into it as neither I nor anyone else knows anything really, but a superstar player only playing one series (in a game they eventually lost) for an unknown reason and then taking off immediately afterward is somewhat worrisome to me.

Weird. Sounds like a disciplinary issue. Boys will be boys I guess. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

He has handled his recruitment somewhat bizarrely, and there was that on-field post-game fight incident early in the year, but I haven't heard anything that makes me worried he's a head case or anything, unless those things I mentioned are more serious than I realized.

SIAP, but he's expected to be at the ND/OU game this weekend, along with Cole Luke. Per Sapp

Let's hope we impress them!

Coming to watch ND.

I found my perfect 100th post. I am going to get way too hyped on the recruitment of a 17 year old who has done nothing but toy with multiple fan bases and will likely continue to do so. MACKENSIE!!!!

There are always a few recruits I get a little batty over every year but this year has given me a lot of hope! Between Jaylon, Alexander, and Redfield I have not been this optimistic in a long time! Then throw in Muhammad and this could be the exact amount of star power and role players that get us a couple title runs! Not gonna get too crazy still lots of work to be done but these kids gotta see the blueprint is working!

I thought he was taking his OV to Nebraska this weekend. It changes like by the minute with him.

Is it certain he isn't taking an official or unofficial to OU? Is he truly going to OU to "scout" ND? That much seems unclear in these posts. Cole would be there to visit OU in some capacity, correct?

Sapp didn't say whether it was an official or unofficial visit, but I'd be shocked if it was anything but an OV to OU. (Luke is definitely on an OV.) Doubt Mackenzie would travel from SW Florida to Norman, OK on his own dime.

Sorry if my post was misleading. Not sure how you got that he was going to scout ND but I certainly didn't mean to suggest that.

I believe Keith was referring to GB's post. It was right below your initial one.

Ohh, I see. Well I hope he is coming to watch ND (on OU's dime). I haven't heard that OU is a serious contender for Mack, but who knows with him.

This kid changes his mind weekly and I wouldnt be surprised if OU wins this game that he doesnt announce them as his leader and then changes a week later. I am hoping we put up a great game and continue our success on defense and that leads to him digging us more but its pointless right now to read too much into anything this kid says or does because it seems it changes every week or so, going to have to wait to signing day to see this kids true intentions.

Oklahoma also made a push for Mackensie Alexander to visit this weekend, but he says he will not make it. #Sooners

Just read his whole interview... a lot of "swag and balls" in some of those quotes... see almost no possibility of him coming here now. He outright says he's going to be the best player in CFB and better than Honey Badger, says he doesn't want to be behind/follow anyone, etc.

Some call that confidence, I call that a big head and those players don't really work out here under the current regime.

He doesn't seem to fit what Kelly is looking for, but what do I know. If you listen to an interview of Redfield and then one of him. It's night and day.

He wouldn't fit here with our team first attitude. To be honest, I don't think I want him anymore. Don't care how good he is.

He seems like he'd do more harm than good.

DB outlook is not quite as rosy as it was a few weeks ago ... if you had told me before the Stanford game that, of our six remaining targets, the one most likely to be ND is Redfield, I'd have laughed. Now it looks like that is very much the case. And Redfield is still committed to another school ...
