He's a huge part of their offense. Big, big loss.

This is a big loss. He is their leading receiver and their kickoff guy, right?

Stanford's site says he has 10 returns this season with an average of 25.8 yards. He hasn't taken one to the house yet, but his longest is 64 yards. That will hurt.

Might just be gamesmanship... wouldn't count out Montgomery just yet.

ME TOO But now with the 3:30 kick off, I will have to just go Sunday morning....OR go for Saturday morning mass too!!!

Hehe, I have been doing the morning one. It's a quick one anyways. We do a Hail Mary after the final benediction, and then I leave saying Our Mother of Victory Pray for us and Go Irish!"hehe" Saturday afternoons are for football. I sing in the choir on sundays.

David Pollack was just on Sportscenter talking about ND. Raved about their defense, said we haven't had NFL talent like this on our team in years. Said OK/SC will be difficult to win but mentioned that if we did, we'd make a NC appearance.

specifically, he was raving about Manti. Funny, last year he said he "is just a guy" -- he's OK, but nothing special. Really dislike Pollack.

Watching the Stanford @ Washington game now on espn3.com. Half-way through the 2nd and Stanford's five three-and-outs have not impressed this sailor, thus far.

Been praying to Mary right before every game and throughout the game. Mary is who I thank for this season so far. Gonna have to pray a lot on Saturday.

I agree with you. I rewatched a few of their games and the offense doesn't impress me much. They are ranked 78th in total offense in the country. Not something that makes me scared. Also, all of you guys seems to be talking up Nunes, why is that? Not trying to attack you, just wondering what you see in him. Not a very experienced film watcher.

I expect them to get out and play their hearts out just like they did against SC. Anything can happen, but quite frankly I am very comfortable that we will be ready to go. Our guys just look hungry this year, it's amazing.

With all the media in town and Mike and Mike and the NBC pre game, Gameday et al, it is imperative that we do not lay an egg this Saturday.

We must win this game.

Just finished watching the Washington v. Stanford game. Had watched the USC defeat previously. Just seems like we match up against Stanford's defense more like a beefed up Washington (outside the tackles) instead of a pro-set Condom Offense (inside the tackles).

My anxiety level is half of what it was roughly 2.5 hours ago (while still respecting Stanford's program).

Gonna be bummed if it's raining all day while gameday is there and things are supposed to be going on outside.

There will be a pregame flyover prior to the @StanfordFball game at Notre Dame involving two U.S. Navy F-18s

Bingo. If we win this we get a lot of respect. The lights are getting brighter, lets hope the boys respond in kind.

We know there's very little chance of their WR's getting behind our DB's. But I'm still anxious as to how Diaco handles the package where Stanford sends in 4 tight ends to block who are 300 pounds.

Shouldn't the defense counter that with something similar to a goal line D?
