I don't understand why we aren't serious consideration for more elite DB's. Playing time is readily available for the taking, and the rest of the defense is stacked. Doesn't make sense.

I understand that we're "in consideration" for several high-end prospects, but in all reality, you'd think that we'd be much more serious contenders for more DBs.

I think that's the issue here. LSU has produced the highest profile DBs over the last few years, so Willis naturally wants to join them.

I'm sure ND has benefitted similarly in its recruitment of TEs.

Why "represent" for a school that not even in one's top group?

I mean..... I never, ever would've considered going to George Mason but still rooted for them crazy hard in their NCAA tournament run years ago... don't think it's that much of an oddity.

He's gonna visit UVA this fall. Apparently, his father is good friends with a couple of our coaches. Believe it or not, UVA is still in it. I don't think we have much of a chance at landing him but he's at least giving us a shot. Most recruits of his caliber have written us off by now.

Per ISD, his army AA presentation is Friday followed by a late start to his game because its on TV. His dad is out of the country and rearranging flights so they could both be at ND would make everything feel very rushed. He is still veryhigh on ND and hopes to get a visit set up for Stanford with his good friend Chris Hawkins.

Tempe (Ariz.) Marcos De Niza cornerback Priest Willis was slated to visit Notre Dame this weekend but had to change those plans. Instead the 6-foot-2, 200-pound prep is hoping to get to South Bend on Oct. 13 when the Irish host Stanford.

"That's probably when I'll get out there now," Willis said. "I just had to re-schedule for this Under Armour presentation thing going on. It doesn't change anything about how I feel about Notre Dame."

Currently his first trip will now be a visit to Nebraska on Oct. 26 followed by a trip to LSU on Nov. 2.

The nation's No. 23 overall player has kept a tight lid on his recruitment but is also figured to be looking hard at USC and UCLA along with these three programs. USC figured to be a slight favorite for quite some time but it appears the Trojans may have run out of room for a cornerback in this class.

Texas has also shown new interest and could push for a visit if the Horns decide to make Willis a priority.

Last week the five star had an all-star level game on defense. Willis said he notched 18 tackles, 10 solo and 4 TFL with a sack.

"I was playing rover so I was able to rush off the edge quite a bit. It felt great to be out there making tackles and helping my team win."

Never say never. Love this kid but always thought it was a long shot, but anything can happen. If we keep winning and he makes it to the Stanford game, then anything is possible!

Hope so, but latest report is we're not even in his top five. UCLA sems to be the leader and Texas is now in his top five.
