Even if he does pop, USC mods don't think it will stick b/c of his history. This is a guy, if you want him, you have to recruit hard until NSD, even if he does verbal to your school.

Hmm. Love this dude's athletic ability but I'm still not sure where he fits in. I mean, I see a lot of potential as a safety/starOLB, but (a) not a lot of defensive film, so tough to say for sure, and (b) I don't know that we really need to recruit anyone at that position this year. What's the plan, to pull Jaylon Smith for this guy? Plus we have Baratti, Shumate and Turner in the 2012 class, who all look like they could be starOLB guys in addition to good safeties.

EDIT: more I think about it, more I like this guy as a safety and situational OLB. Not a bad idea to take one guy like that in this class, depending on the spots that end up being available. If we are going to take one, I like this guy better than Marcus Ball. More athletic.

Jimmy Clausen?

Clausen only committed to one school and never wavered. Also, that fiasco at the HOF was not Clausen's doing, but a snafu that was the fault of his family. He also wanted to announce at ND and thought he could but had to change plans b/c of the fact that it would have been an NCAA violation.

Clausen had his issues (being from SoCal, I heard about these issues as early as 8th grade), but that announcement wasn't on him.

As far as Kearse goes - kid, DO NOT ANNOUNCE YET!!! Just hold off, get your OVs in, and make as an informed decision as possible. You're a good player, and a good team will have a spot for you. If you commit again AND announce that you'll take your OVs, your recruitment will be mocked even further. Be a 'solid verbal', for once...
