I can definitely see that. Interesting way to put it. Even then Michigan refused to play ND for awhile if I remember correctly.

At the same time, I wonder if their fans even know their own history, or have the capability of learning.

My dvr recorded day 1 only five times, so I don't have the direct quote, but when asked about his decision, the first thing out of his mouth was something like ....well after the whole Ohio state situation....

I'm still just so damn happy about Alex committing. Was real nervous even when all the signs were pointing towards us.

I was reading something on one of my ND apps and I think it was Lemming talking about how he averaged 11.5 ypc as a RB. I'm not suggesting he play that position but if the style of our offense changes under Martin and we start using an H-back I wouldn't be against him getting a look there.

GCND: Redshirting, heaven forbid, if this situation arises, will it be an issue for you?

Alex: If the situation of redshirting arises, I won’t be upset. It will give me the opportunity to get my one year MBA from ND for free. You can’t go wrong with that!

GCND: Tell me a bit about the coach who recruited you, what was he selling that the other recruiters were not?

Alex: Coach Hiestand recruited me. You can tell he is a genuine guy from the start. He told me straight up when I first talked to him that he was not going to ask me to call him everyday like some other coaches do. He never talked poorly of other schools.

GCND: Was there any negative recruiting towards Notre Dame, and if so what made you see past it ?

Alex: There was. The whole “there’s nothing to do in Indiana, etc.” After my last visit, I knew that was a lie. You make your own fun. If you’re around people who you like, you’ll have fun.
