September 29 Illinois Away toss up
October 6 Northwestern - Homecoming Game toss up

October 20 Iowa Away - 8PM toss up
October 27 Ohio State Home - 6PM L
November 3 Purdue Away W
November 10 Nebraska Away toss
November 17 Indiana Home w

I think you give them too much credit against Navy, the suckeyes had trouble with them a couple years back and their definitly a better football team than Pstate. Navy pulls off a big win every year I think it's going to be Pstate this year, not necessarily a BIG win, but one they probably shouldn't win. We have 40+ years of tape and playing time against Navy, hence us doing well "typically". Pstate will be lucky to be bowl eligble, IMO. O'Brien will try to hard to implement is new regime that it will crumble on top of him with poor team chemistry.

I'm not sure that applies here. With some of those others, they commited to ND, but rumor and specualtion continued and a lot of us had bad feelings about them. Alex has taken his time and hasn't said one way or the other where he was going. I think he was smart to take all of his visits even if ND wowed him over. Just because his visit at PSU went well doesn't mean he isn't leaning to the Irish. Even if he had a crappy visit to PSU, he doesn't strike me as the type that would state that. Maybe he didn't want to hurt the PSU coaches feelings. Besides, it's easier to tell them no over the phone or thru a press conference than in person.

I agree with what Irish #1 said.

I think this scenario better fits PSU as it pertains to Alex. PSU is the hometown team and he's probably visited PSU twice as much as ND or Florida. PSU never really seemed to be the leader. In reality, I don't think that's the scenario with PSU either, just that PSU would seem to be a better fit for it as it pertains to Alex's situation.

Never once did I say that I was talking about kids that committed to ND. I'm talking about kids who all ND fans assumed was in the lead, kids who say all the right things about ND and who fit the ND mold, but yet never commit to ND despite multiple trips and opportunities to do so, and end up going to another school. This happens quite a lot, where ND fans just assume we'll land a kid b/c of all the things I mentioned above.

I remember a DL from Minnesota about 4 yrs ago (Beau Allen???) who all ND fans thought would be Irish if CW would just offer him. And when CW FINALLY offered him, he didn't commit, but we got into his top 3. But despite saying all the right things, he never committed. He never truly WANTED to be Irish. (And that's OK btw.) This happens a lot. I think the players love the idea of playing at ND (esp their parents), but they don't truly want to be here.

And that's when a state school comes into play. David Amerson comes to mind as a player who visited ND, said he loved ND, and then went to his state school of NC State.

All I'm saying is that Anzalone seems to be one of those kids who really likes ND but doesn't seem to truly want to be at ND. Thus the confusion, the changing of minds, the unexpected visit to PSU, the stories of ND leading, then FL, then PSU.

Like I said, I hope I'm wrong. And this is nothing against Anzalone. He's obviously a confused teenager making the most important decision of his young life. It's not easy, so for me, he's good in my book. Just hope he chooses ND and sticks with it...

I hope he picks the Irish, but in the end, it's his decision, and one not to be taken lightly.....good luck to him.

Could be he just doesn't want anyone to know where he is going before he announces it himself.

Anzalone's brother goes to #psu, dad went to #Florida but I think #NotreDame was best visit. The drama is high on this one.

Blaze your own path young man.

Interesting point. Or, it might be kind of the reverse: the indecisiveness might be that he likes PSU and UF but really wants to be at ND.

As Mike Farrell pointed out in a tweet today, Anzalone has family connections to both Florida and PSU. He may feel a certain amount of pressure to attend one of those two schools (probably not a ton, or he wouldn't have previously committed to OSU, but maybe some). But by all accounts, including his own, he loved the visit to ND and really bonded with the other commits, especially Heuerman. So I wonder if its coming down to: do I do the right thing for me, or do I do the right thing for me and them (the fam)?

Not saying I know anything, just idly speculating.

This pic was from the day after his visit to Penn State that he tweeted out. Notice the fine shirt he is wearing.

As I've said over the last couple of weeks, it wouldn't surprise me if he chose any of the 3 finalists, but if you asked me to choose. I think he picks ND.

Picture wouldn't display for me. Can you post a link?

EDIT: Saw the link now and realized I saw that pic already anyways. Thanks though.

I feel like he's a silent ND commit. It's also interesting that Sapp disappeared from the Anzalone thread on 247 once he posted his article yesterday - this normally means good news for ND.
