Confused as to why "our missing piece" is not "one of the missing pieces" as it probably should be. ND is half a puzzle short of all the pieces.

We're all talking in hypotheticals that WON'T happen. There is a 0.00001% chance of getting both Heargraves and Alexander. And probably only a 5% chance of getting one.
I think it says a lot that he is visiting. Didn't someone say the other day that his brother had a visit scheduled for Clemson and they didn't make it due to lack of funds? I am no genius but it has to be cheaper to make it to Clemson that to S.B.
I posted several items that I gleaned from the volnation board. There was one poster from Florida that stated that the Alexander family didn't have a lot financial means and it was his speculation that it was part of the reason why he cancelled his trips to Clemson and pOSU. I would definitely not state that as fact. Just one person's speculation.
Honestly, that doesn't make much sense. If the family doesn't have the financial means to visit Clemson, why go to South Bend on your own dime? Why not wait until the season and take an official to the schools that are farther away?
Either way, I'm tickled shitless that he's coming. If there's any ounce of truth to those posts on Volnation, then that speaks to where we stand with him.
Irish Illustrated @NDatRivals
Interested if Notre Dame can convince 4-star corner Mackensie Alexander to do early enrollment, i.e. don't go home and play at ND now.

LAX you are much deeper into the recruiting world than I am. So I say this in all humility. I'm not sure if you are attempting to deflate some of the OVER enthusiasm about the possibility of Alexander coming to ND, which I would agree we are getting a little too excited about the possibility. However I have a hard time seeing how we would only have a 5% chance of landing him. It is a significant thing for an athlete to visit a school. Out of all the schools some of these recruits get offered by, only a handful get visits. Even more, it is also not the norm for a recruit to visit for the length of time Alexander will be at ND. Now, I am not at all suggesting that this means he will give a verbal and then sign with the Irish. I'm just saying can't we bump that possibility up to at least a 25% chance?
Again I understand if you were looking to bring some perspective to our excitement.
Is MacKenro on the visit with him? I know he is a low 3 star and not ranked as highly but I wouldn't mind taking MacKensie and MacKenro and call it a class at corner
I might be wrong but I think hes a high 3 star on 247. 88 rating I think? I would definitely take both, it would be a good deal.

he is what we call ... a pessimist
We don't know who our starting qb is.
We have numerous questions in the secondary.
We just lost the best wide receiver in school history.
We lost our only real pass rushing threat this off season.
We are coming off an 8-5 season and we're a high school cornerback away from a BCS game? I'm a pessimist? Realist perhaps; pessimist? Not so much.
This team is taking strides in the right direction and I have faith in this staff but I'm just "keeping it real."
To play devil's advocate, if you replace Gary Gray with a guy playing at Dre Kirkpatrick's level we probably finish last year 11-2. If that's what the OP was trying to say, I can get behind that.
Bottom line: We need top of the line secondary help.
so I take it that his brother is also a defense back?
