Steinbrenner called a spade a spade. I think it's more interesting that the club has apparently already spoken to Rodriguez about their disappointment, something that went completely under the radar. A-Rod is overpaid and disappointing, yet the team was able to convey that without being controversial. That's the kind of stuff that makes it clear these are no longer The Boss' Yankees

They are saying that he is someone that can be called up sooner rather than later. Major-league ready but lower ceiling than most other first-round picks

Thanks. The guys they have playing third are all really weak and even if A-Rod ever makes it back I don't think he is going to play third much longer; so maybe he gets a shot early.

Eric Jagielo was an ND Junior. He played in the Cape Cod League last summer.

He was the 4th 3rd basemen taken in the draft. Supposed to have a superior bat (L) but some question if he has the defensive skills (R) for MLB 3rd baseman and think he may end up at 1st base. Tex is a couple of years younger than ARod but he also seems to be more injury prone and facing declining numbers although not as precipitious as ARod.

Yankees obviously think 3rd as they targeted a 3rd baseman, and OF, and a pitcher in the draft and that's what they took.



Once ESPN guy commented he could be in pinstripes by 2014 or 2015. While they have a need for an everyday 3rd basemen that's a quick jump.

Jeter on the mend...Rehab assignment this evening at Wilkes-Barre. Don't like the Yanks but been an admirer of his since pitching against him up in Michigan in a tournament when we were 16. Hope he comes back healthy and finishes his awesome career with the same class he's shown his entire career. Go Jet!!!

Two bombs and struck him out once... lol His dad said he only struck out 3 times that season to that point. That was one. The other two balls he hit are still going.
