Not a fan of Dutch, but they did play a solid game. The officiating was suspect. Brazil should have been a man down anyway.

I pull for them as a Villa fan cause of Vlaar. But they are fun as hell to watch, Robben can take over a game.

No, the Brazilians deserve it for all they have done throughout the years. Masters of diving, cheated Croatia out of a win. They have perfected sticking their toe in the ground to draw calls. Not a player on the team I like.

By your standards, tons of countries deserve it then. I can name 10 countries that dive just as frequently as Brazilians do, including some European countries. Shit, in another post you mention Robben as fun to watch...I put him right there with Neymar and Suarez as the biggest floppers in the world. It is maddening watching him play. Is it OK because he is European? And my dad is European, so it's not like I'm picking on them to prove a point. I watch European soccer more than any other sport other than college football.

They also didn't cheat Croatia out of a win. Maybe a tie, but in the end, Croatia just wasn't good enough. The ref made a horrible call, no doubt, but that happens. Croatia was a massive disappointment, as shown by their AWFUL performance against Mexico.

I think Robben is worse than Neymar. I watched every Dutch game this tournament besides yesterday and he became my least favorite player outside of Rafa Marquez. So many times he dribbles the ball too far on purpose and will just run into the defender and kick his legs out from under him.

There is a difference between flopping when contact is made to draw a call, and just falling down in the box hoping the ref calls a penalty. Robben is a flopper no doubt, but as a fan, his exciting play evens the score. I have too much hate for Brazilian soccer to root for Neymar. Since you watch European soccer, you know that if players in the EPL do the things that Fred does, they are quickly shunned.

I've been pulling for Germany all tournament and would still like to see then win but I it would be awful cool to see Messi cement himself as a soccer legend with a WC winner.

Out of all the uber superstars, I like Messi the best. Argentina is also my favorite South American team by far and I've cheered for them every game. That said, I still hope the Germans crush them :). I do hope that Messi has a decent game, but I do fear one of those "once in a lifetime performances".

I typically love extra time games, but hope this one wraps up in 90. I've got Tim McGraw VIP tix including his private pre-show acoustic set. Worst case I'll let the GF drive and I'll watch extra time on my phone.... Not how I'd like to see the Germans win. MoreFirstWorldProblems#

First of all, Neymar is naaaasssssty. No doubt Robben is a phenomenal player, but go look up Neymar on YouTube...the things he can do are incredible and just as exciting as Robben. And they both are ridiculous floppers, and they both embarrass themselves needlessly. I've seen Robben fall without being touched too. I'm not saying you have to root for Neymar, but I am saying you are letting your hatred for Brazilians cloud your judgment on just how many European players flop just as much as they do.

Secondly, EPL players flop too, and are shunned to an extent. But ask Liverpool fans if they were shunning Suarez this year as he was leading them to a near Premier League title. They accepted his flopping bc of what he brought to the table. If you bring the goods, even EPL fans look the other way. Thankfully, there is less flopping in the EPL than any other major league, but there is still flopping going on (thanks to the non-British players lol)...

I think Robben is worse than Neymar.

Transfermarkt agrees with you. Neymar is valued at £52.8m, which is nearly double Robben's estimated £26.4m. A lot of that likely has to do with their relative ages (Neymar is 8 years younger), but there's not much of a case to be made for Robber > Neymar.

And I say that as a Bayern fan. Robben's insanely good at what he does, but he's pretty one-dimensional. And his flopping and whining are incredibly annoying.

Thankfully, there is less flopping in the EPL than any other major league, but there is still flopping going on (thanks to the non-British players lol)...

I'd say there's less flopping in the Bundesliga. Deutschlanders have no tolerance for it.

Amen. Wanted to say this earlier but didn't want to get pounded by the EPL fans. I don't watch enough EPL and Bundesliga to make and empathic statement, so I just bit my tounge... Go Germany, go Bayern!

I can't argue against that as I only watch that league on highlights or in the Champions League. I will say that I appreciate, when I do watch, how the Germans fight through tackles...

I know there's something to be said about team chemistry and such but including Palacio and him seeing important minutes all tournament with no result while Tevez was at home was a shame.

Congrats to Germany though Schweinsteiger was in Messi's back pocket all game long.
