Kinda ironic how English soccer has been trending downward for the past few world cups while USA soccer has been trending up for the past few. I am gonna flip if England somehow still advances. Mathematically they are not out.

It's not as bad as they are making it out to be. If Italy wins out and England beats Costa Rica by a few goals (could totally see it) England is in.

Honestly I don't think it is that out of the question. Italy needs to win out, and England needs to win. Pretty sure that is it.

Italy would be at 9 points.
Costa Rica would be at 0 GD say they lose to Italy and England by 1
Uruguay would be at -2 GD say they lose to Italy by 1
England would be at -1 GD if they beat Costa Rica by 1.

So essentially, England needs Italy to win out.

I think they will beat CR fairly easily but the World Cup has been so unpredictable. At 6 points they are not necessarily through because 3 teams in their group can max at 6 points.
