Going to use your quote this aftenoon when I head to the field house. All of the other coaches are MSU grads and I give them hell about the Poultry Engineering program anyways. This will give me added ammo. LMAO

Haha glad to help

Auburn just got a flip from an LSU OT, think that may affect Arik's decision?

Eight top recruits, including Andrus Peat, are still available - NCAA Football - Sporting News

Brian McLaughlin, TSN, 1/13/12

TSN's GUESS on where the top 8 uncommitted recruits of their Top 25 will end up.

1. Andrus Peat, OL, 6-7/280, Corona Del Sol (Tempe, Ariz.)
Considering: Florida State, Nebraska, Stanford, USC
The latest: It’s hard to see Peat going anywhere other than Nebraska, where his brother already plays and one of his prep teammates is heading. There is early playing time to be had on the offensive line, and historically it’s been a great place for linemen. “Distance isn’t an issue,” Peat told Sporting News this past year. “ … If it’s halfway across the country and I fit in the best, I’ll go there.” SN’s guess: Nebraska in a landslide.

3. Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, 6-6/220, Hillcrest (Springfield, Mo.)
Considering: Alabama, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas
The latest: Just call Green-Beckham the mystery man. It has been really, really difficult to get a feel for where he’s going because the family has kept things close to the vest. He has taken an official visit to Texas, so don’t rule out the Longhorns, but it’s hard to see him going too far away from his family—making Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma the top candidates. SN’s guess: Arkansas over Oklahoma by a hair.

10. Stefon Diggs, WR, 6-0/180, Good Counsel (Olney, Md.)
Considering: Auburn, Cal, Florida, LSU, Maryland, Michigan, OSU, USC, Virginia Tech
The latest: Diggs claimed at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl that he is still completely wide open, but mentioned that he’d like to see LSU, Auburn and Florida in January. He seems to like the SEC, but is difficult to read. SN’s guess: Florida in a coin toss.

11. Arik Armstead, DE, 6-8/280, Pleasant Grove (Elk Grove, Calif.)
Considering: Alabama, Auburn, Cal, Notre Dame, Oregon, Texas
The latest: This former USC recruit is checking out lots of schools, and now his brother—USC DT Armond Armstead—could join him at a new school if he decides to transfer. Look for this to be a package deal. SN’s guess: Auburn if the Tigers will take both.

12. Eddie Goldman, DT, 6-4/310, Friendship Collegiate Academy (Washington, D.C.)
Considering: Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Maryland, Miami
The latest: All of his official visits have been in the South, if that’s any indication of where this kid is heading. Whoever gets him will have quite a bowling ball of a player. SN’s guess: Alabama, because national titles attract players.

14. Joshua Garnett, OL, 6-5/305, Puyallup (Wash.)
Considering: Michigan, Notre Dame, Stanford
The latest: This very intelligent guard told Sporting News that his future home would need a great legacy in football, with great players and coaches—but it would also need to have a great bioengineering program. All three finalists have exactly that. SN’s guess: Stanford over Notre Dame by a nose.

17. Yuri Wright, DB, 6-2/180, Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.)
Considering: Cal, Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Rutgers
The latest: Coaches love this 6-2 cornerback. He’s planning to visit Michigan this weekend, and may see Georgia and Rutgers later this month. His visit to Notre Dame in December went well, too, but Rutgers is the school in the backyard. SN’s guess: Notre Dame over Rutgers by a hair.

19. Jordan Diamond, OL, 6-6/290, Simeon (Chicago)
Considering: Arkansas, Auburn, Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin
The latest: Diamond will join Wright at Michigan this weekend, then will travel to Arkansas and Wisconsin later this month. He’s a bit of a mystery, too, but he did seem to enjoy his official visit to Auburn last month. SN’s guess: Auburn in a coin toss.

I'm trying to put some positive mojo into the ether so I'm going to be ridiculously optimistic and say the Armstead's followed by Darby recommitting to ND and his commitment will convince Agholor that ND is the right place for him.

After that Yuri is going to make the call for ND.

Fuller will visit and love it and commit before he leaves campus.

After Fuller it will be a surprise commit of Sunny Odogwu.

Garnett will verbal to Stanford but change his mind and commit to ND on NSD.

The final commit will be Neal, who everyone has projected to go to tOSU but commits to ND and tells the world at no point did tOSU ever lead.

I can dream, can't I.

Armstead Bros. = 33% chance. Not looking good, as Armond might be heading to Auburn

Darby = 60%. I don't believe he has a good enough reason that he de-committed in the first place. Diaco and Booker should set him straight. I know track is important, but so's your education and LSU, FSU, Auburn can't offer you one like ND can. After all, Football's what you're getting a scholarship for, isn't that what brought you to Notre Dame? Why have second thoughts?

Yuri Wright = 92%. He cancelled his trip to Michigan, so ND's biggest hurdle is gone. I simply CANNOT take Rutgers seriously. Would Wright actually consider going to Rutgers over possibly starting at ND, absolutely not.

Fuller = 60%. Fuller seems like a good Wildcat QB for the Irish to use and if Golson doesn't pan out (God forbid) or he leaves early for the draft (he is that good), then Fuller could be the next man in.

Agholor = 25%. It's looking like he's gonna stay in Florida.

Maybe let Golson get some snaps under his belt before talking about him entering the NFL draft early.

Anyone have any idea which, if any, Bosco boys are currently enrolled at RU? That could potentially play a role in Wright's decision.

Having survived the Lynch and Tuitt dramas last year, I'm doing pretty good. Losing three quality guys hurts but we need to remember that Perkins may have been an issue anyway so I discount him. Losing Decker and probably Darby (IMO) hurts but we picked up Carlisle. That's not so bad even though the rating services won't account for that.

A couple of weeks ago we're all (not literally all) flying high, not enough spots, too many 5th years, etc.... I personally thought we were tallying up commitments without a lot of real information to support all of that. We still have some time, I'm going to be hopeful going forward.

This isn't a disaster by any means.

Leonte Carroo.

Thanks! Do we have any idea how much, if any, pull Leonte might have over Wright? I know that there was talk about how Elijah and Yuri aren't exactly best buds - not that they're enemies by any means, but just that where one went wouldn't necessarily affect where the other goes. Just curious if the same applies to Leonte.

I can't recall having read anything about how close the four Don Bosco kids are. Until I read otherwise, I'm going to assume that Rutgers having Carroo is a wash with ND having Shumate.

Unless Wright and Carroo are better friends...I feel ND having Shumate trumps Rutgers having Carroo just because both Shumate and Wright would be playing defense together and making plays together...knowing the tendencies of one another and etc. IMO so that would be a better selling point to go to ND. Only looking at that one isolated point.

You're probably right. I just remember reading somewhere that Elijah transferred into DB later (from Paterson Catholic I believe), whereas the others were there since day one. I was just wondering if the others might be tighter because of that. I'm probably just reading much too much into it, lol

Sonny Odogwu? Does he even have an offer? Last I heard the staff went to check him out then nothing. Wouldn't mind adding a project with good upside in light of the decommit.

Both are possible. I'd assume that Wright would be closest to Shumate because they're part of the same unit (DBs), whereas Carroo is a WR and Hamilton a DE. But it's just pure conjecture on our part.
