Don't really see that happening. Adams has made it pretty clear he wants to stay on the west coast.

Is it true that another big downside he had with ND was that they were not interested in him at RB?

I would take Poole or Manning over Adams. Just didn't know how us landing Payton would affect Adams, if any.

Thanks Golden.

I dont think Adams like his visited a whole lot. Payton and Adams will do their own thing.

Don't make me beat the info out of you.

I'm a mushroom cloud layin' mother****er, mother****er! I'm Superfly TNT! I'm the Guns of the Navarone!

Banner still has trips left to USC and UW, and they will be our toughest competition. If Gunner commits though...

Gunner Kiel and Zach Banner: :)

Odenigbo had an awesome visit, still hard for Wiltfong and Sapp to predict where he will land.

Russell really likes ND but would be tough to pull from UW.

Armstead.... maybe.

Do you meen we may get him?

Obviously a number one quarterback will attract top lineman and receivers. We need this domino to fall soon.

What is goin on? maybe i'm being a pessimist but I don't really feel comfortable with any of the top guys we are going after besides kiel, I'd say maybe add one more out of stanley/ifeadi/payton and god willing, agholor. I know there will probably be a Tuitt in the next month and everything, but with perkins decommit we have what is it 7-9 spots now.

I'm just worried we start reaching for guys. Like this joseph jackson, I didn't research him at all besides his offer list and saw on rivals 60th overall LB when we have him at S on this site. I'm not putting the kid down at all he may be a stud for all i know, but i just hope we aren't just going to hand offers out because we find out in a month we whiffed on a ton of guys.( I know jackson didn't just recieve his offer)

I thought i saw on here that in 2013 we have a very small number of scholarships too. It seems alot of top guys really like us already for next year and i would really like to save those scholly's for next year if we do whiff. I don't know though, i'm just rambling and freaking out because i'm on this site numerous hours a day and have seen honestly like 5 positive posts since the USC game. Not that i don't enjoy going through 6 pages of kieth marshalls profile excited as hell only to find nothing about him at all ha I read so many of your guyses convos i almost feel like part of the family. Damn, i just need one of our top guys too commit, or even say we are a new leader and i'll be happy, the last week and a half has been hell for me. (maybe only a week, halloween i was blacked out for a good 72 hours)

After all my bullshit, main question... do you guys think we will use all our scholarships no matter what or hold out till signing day and if we miss we just take back more 5th years seniors and go balls out for 2013

I'm starting to get thirsty for a commit too. But patience buddy.

The positive about not having any recent commits now is because we are in the running for some of the elites around the country and they typically wait until near the end of the recruiting cycle because most like to take everything in and IMO like to keep the suspense going.

Once their HS seasons are over and they are done with their visits get ready for a bunch of them to pop........to ND ;)

Commitments during October and early November are rare birds. The psychology is: the guys who wanted to get it out of the way have done so. The other guys are concentrating on ending their senior seasons and taking visits. The next "flow" will probably be late November or December.

I get that about commiting now, except i did expect atleast one after USC, I'm more worried because It seems no one has anything good or anything at all to say and after the USC game we didn't jump to anyones leader. I'm just going on what i hear from you guys and for alot of the elites it seems alot of people think we are going to end up in second place for most or all of them except kiel.

I think if we had beaten USC and put a whipping to them we might have seen one or two guys pop in our favor. Unfortunately as all of us know, we didn't take care of business so that did not happen. I honestly see some of our targets taking a wait and see approach to see how we finish up our season. I think if we handle our business on the field and win games then we will get a few of the big names out there. I wouldn't be surprised if we dont get another commit for another 2-3 weeks. As someone else pointed out alot of these kids are focusing their efforts on their senior seasons before finalizing any recruiting plans.

I have not been a supporter of getting a QB commitment this year due to the current roster structure, but I'm changing my attitude.

A). Dayne is unlikely to be part of the team next year;
B). Coach will remain true to his principles to have a fair off-season competition;
C). If a superman like Kiel wanted to come, he'd get a fair shot;
D). [This is my irrational kicker] Right now, a really high-profile athlete like Kiel would solidify and catalyze this recruiting class. We might get the major other folks we're hoping for.

Will Gunner Kiel be next? I'm beginning to hope for that.

Makes sense that the best WR, RB, OL and TE's would want to go where the best QB is going.

I'm on the Gunner Kiel bandwagon.....but I think everyone should be Irish!

I agree OMM. I was never reluctant to welcome a high profile guy like Kiel, but I'm realizing what a verbal from a guy like that could do. I think it's safe to say that DGB is not coming to ND and Kiel would not change that. However, borderline guys like Agholor, Ian Thomas, Payton, or Darboh could look at ND and see Kiel and jump on board.

The best wide receivers want to play with the best quarterback.

The best lineman want to block for the best quarterback.

It helps.

My guess right now is that McNamara could be next after Boston College.

ND is definitley on the rise. People always question Kellys coaching antics but the guy can recruit and I think thats pretty obvious to any fan but definitley have to be patient. All these kids have big decisions to make, I think Agholor is most likey to commit next. I thought we would have a shot at Shaq Thompson but he seems very uneasy about leaving CA.

I think you take at least one QB every year if you can.

A lot of the negativity around recruiting has to do with how many high hopes fans had going into USC. The problem is, most of those guys are kids that everyone wants. Keith Marshall, Shaq Thompson, Arik Armstead,.. none of these guys are deciding any time soon.

That and recruiting is slow in general right now. Kids are finishing up their high-school careers and really beginning to think about the next step.

Like every year, names will start to pop up that have not been on the radar, and we will fall off with people we thought we had a great shot with.

Just as a reminder: last year we had no commitments in October, and it wasn't until the next to last day of November that we broke the ice [Cam McDaniel I think]. Then there was another month until Everett Golson committed in late December. This ain't the season for it much.

ND is fine with recruits. Would it be nice to have picked up a couple after sc? Absolutely. The recruits dont study ND week in and out so the loss isn't a huge deal.

We are in good shape from all indications I have heard. I fully expect to see a 2 verbals by the end of the month. This is the time where the kids are in the playoffs and trying to get to state, so I am sure they shut recruiting down a little. As well as the kids who didn't make it, it picks up again.

ND can help itself the most by winning these next 2 games, and setting up a prime time match up with Stanford with a national title berth on the line for Stanford. Nothing would send a message to the kids on the edge like giving a team 1 win away from playing in the title game a loss in prime time.

Also, not dealing with recruiting....but Tuitt and Lynch are adjusting...its about to real fun.

The rest of the class, IMO (some reaches):

Gunner Kiel
Dami Ayoola
Ian Thomas
Ronnie Stanley
Ekanem/Odenigbo
Maybe another outside WR (Payton or Darboh)

Leaving an open spot in next year's class.

Also there's the possibility of some late offers.

I would love to see Agholor, but if Notre Dame gets Kiel, I imagine that Kelly can work magic with the rest of the pieces.

This would be great. I think we might snag another CB.
