anyone else thing Larry Fedora would be a dynamite hire? instantly would change attitude and I think he would clean up on the recruiting trail

No this wouldn't be. You all don't like Kelly and he is the exact same coach all offense no defense.

Maybe you need to learn more about Calhoun before you make a stupid statement. Was Gary Kubiak's OC/QB with the Texans. He doesn't run the same offense as Johnson and Navy. He can adapt his offense to whatever personnel he has. Great coach.

I hate the triple option. But Navy is killing it and with the production they lost last year you have to be impressed with where they are at. I'm probably delusional at this point but I'm just tired of being sad.

If Cap'n Jack can somehow get BK onto someone else's payroll, and open up the ND job with no buyout, he deserves a statue at mid field that all players just have to avoid and deal with for the rest of football.

You mean after the extension he negotiated?

Well maybe I'll research Troy a little more, but it's all a moot point since Kelly is back.

It's not the divorce that's the problem. It's the issue of him being unfaithful to her and sleeping with his assistants. Could you see the Backlash if that happened while he was here? ESPN would put an office in south bend.

Depends.......how hot was she?

We need dwshade to come back and tell us that the speculation on the airplane is pointless.

EDIT: Dammit, I let the page sit too long. My joke is now sh*t, and I'll let it stand in shame.

Trump is visiting Indiana tomorrow. Maybe BK is going to be offered a job in Trump's cabinet? I'm guessing it won't be for Secretary of Defense, though.

Yeah, that's bad. Imagine Kelly and BVG getting it on? Gross. Now Diaco on the other hand would make sense. That hair. Either way, sleeping with your assistants is a bad idea. Maybe that's why Booker still has a job

Jesus, that hair.

Calhoun would be a nightmare for a lot of top tier cfb... his offense is a bit more dynamic and multi-dimensional than Tech's of Navy's but can still do many of the same things when needed... In the right spot he'd have potential to destroy cfb defenses that rarely see that style of offense. It would be super interesting to watch.

I keep seeing ppl on here posting about Kelly going to another university.... I really think for Kelly it's more about the NFL.... If Jack won't fire him, then our best hope to be rid of BK is to hope an NFL franchise hires him away. It really wld be the absolute best case scenario for ND (EXCEPT for the way it wld impact recruiting for this year; but even that has become negotiable apparantly with the lack of definitive answers from the powers-that-be at ND...

With BK leaving for the NFL, we wldnt owe BK an expensive buyout, we cld keep our heads high saying we didnt fire yet another coach, and we cld say our latest coach left for the NFL; not a different (lesser) university.... IMHO it wld be the best way to rid ourselves of BK and his contract.... and to go with an article I posted earlier, I think the Bengals wld be a great place for him.... Or L.A.... Or Jacksonville.... anywhere but here....

Once again, I think that anybody wanting to get rid of Kelly doesn't know much about football. Not meaning to be rude, but I think the only college coaches that are better would be Saban, Urban, and Harbaugh. None of those guys are walking through the door. I would take Kelly over any other college coach. We were two plays from being in the playoffs last year, and have had the best stretch since Holtz. Before Kelly came people were debating whether Notre Dame could ever be competing for championships again. That conversation changed now that we have Kelly. Don't have such a short memory. Look big picture. We are incredibly blessed to have Coach Kelly.

So you are saying you don't think any coach outside of Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, or Jim Harbaugh could win 5 games this year with this team. If you are right we are doomed.

Lemme Google ND's record this year.

4 wins, 8 losses.

FEI rank 41
S&P+ rank 30
FPI rank 35

So by even the most generous metric, there are 29 college coaches better.

I don't know a lot about his back ground but I am not sure he would be able to recruit.
