I like Stepherson's future but in a "normal" year he would have come on the field once every couple of possessions to run a streak or a deep post. ND sorely missed a T.J. Jones type who could get some separation on routes inside of 15 yards.

Think Corey Holmes is that guy and was glad to see him get more time late in year.

I would just hate having him as the head coach of my favorite team. He's a shit. But I don't disagree with what you're saying.

I think it will be hard to attract a top coach, it will have to be retread or an up and coming type coach. I thing the pressure, academic toughness, being in south bend, and the tone BK has set. All very tough to get a top coach.

Per a NW player I know, Fitzgerald hates ND with a fiery passion.

He's done well with NW but I always thought he'd be slightly better than mediocre coach even if he had more talent at a better program. Just my opinion. He can fuck off with his ND hate too. Just my opinion.

Not saying right or wrong but Wiltfong did a fairly lengthy post on Fitzgerald and why he was such a good fit for ND. Also, that he thought it was very reasonable. Just interesting getting those differing opinions.

In recent years, no one has neg recruited ND harder in the Midwest than Fitzgerald and Mattison. As Wild Bill said, he is open and public with his hate for ND. I've never really understood it.

It's a Northwestern thing. They've got an inferiority complex when it comes to ND. NW and BC both vie for the distinction of being our "little brother".

I can understand it, gotta be tough being at NW when literally no one cares about you. The city you are in, cares more about the Catholic school down the road.

BC, also tough. They should be New England's team, but they aren't. How often do they even sell a game out? When ND comes?

I would think that kelly wants to get things going quickly, and I'd have to assume that he has had some sort of plan since bvg was let go.

landing Charlie Strong asap could put us right back on track with recruits and possibly open up some eyes around the country. I think Hudson needs to stay on somewhere, he did a great job with the hand he was dealt and I think his enthusiasm works for the kids.

Mark Helifrich is out recruiting for Oregon, he has a meeting with his AD sometime this week.

Heard this morning he will get axed later this week.

If BK is going to be let go, but hasn't been told, why wouldn't he be out recruiting? JS isn't worried about recruiting visits. That's small potatoes compared to putting together a buyout.

If you hire a top notch DC let him choose his staff. Hopefully he'd keep Todd Lyght who did a good job with the young DB's and knows how to sell ND to recruits. Mike Elston, who's not going anywhere, could take Booker's spot. Denson needs to stay, important for recruiting. I keep saying Sanford should be given the chance to be full time OC including play calling. Can't imagine Harry not being back to coach OL.
