I knew I could drain Orcs but didn't realize I could do that to a Captain. Good to know, thanks.
You don't unlock that for a little while. If you're like me and you're going around getting every collectible on the map before you advance the story, you're going to be kind of neutered in what you can do for awhile.

Bloodstained!!! YAASS!!

I was all over bloodstained ulk,... posted about it when it came out. Beat both of them, loved both. Only real compliant was the best boss fights were early on, most of the later ones were super easy.

Damn, I just realized that 8-Bit mode is just a separate part of the dungeon and not an optional thing. Still super cool looking though, can't wait to get there.

BiL and I just won plunder,... score one for the 40 somethings

Last night was a good night on Warzone, but I screwed myself during one of my better games, again.

I had 9 kills, just mercing fools with a scoped FAL and switching to a shortened M13 called 'short stuff' for a couple of close-in fire fights. I was at the edge of the circle as it closed around four buildings downtown. I called my UAV and saw that everyone was in front of me, so I started sprinting up the stairs to get to the top of a high rise for a good vantage point for my FAL. Half of the rooftop was in the safe zone.

The circle closed while I was on the last landing, trying to get out the door to the safe zone on the roof... Suffocated in the gas like a fucking idiot with only 8 of us left. I was heated lol.

I was probably averaging 5 kills per match in solos, which I would guess is semi-respectable with the way people play BR. I would like to win one, but it''s not fun to me to sit and do nothing to try and steal a win in the end, so I just go Rambo usually.

Gonna be tough to win going Rambo lol. I have 5 wins and every time I’ve won I’ve dropped at quarry or lumber. Get in a couple fights right away, and win those, and start completing recon contracts. This will show your where the next circle will be before anyone else. Once you secure your landing area, get fully looted and start working towards high ground in the circles but avoid confrontation until it’s right in front of you. Going out of your way for it, it’s not that you will necessarily lose that initial fight, but you will get third partied, especially in later circles. I have a couple wins and a couple runner ups in the last two nights and my team had 12 kills in one win and 15 in the other so nothing crazy. That said, going Rambo is definitely way more fun. Dropping at hospital will force you to do that.

I’ll drop my activision account later in here, has a bunch of numbers in it I don’t remember.

I like to drop at the prison as long as the circle isn't starting at the northwest corner of the map.

I go for the cells underneath, rather than dropping onto the towers. There is sooooooo much loot, and in the games I've played, only one or two other guys will try to do the same thing. Stock up on cash, armor, ammo, and a couple of good guns right away. Then you can wait for a minute or two to listen for footsteps on the metal walkways.

I usually start with a kill or two just by surprising guys as they arrive after me to look for loot. They sprint around making noise, so it's easy to pinpoint them coming down the stairs and blast them before they know what's happening.

Then I head out through a sewer tunnel, use my cash to grab a UAV and a self-revive kit, and I'm off and moving to the next POI.

If I can't drop at the prison, I like to drop on top of an apartment building up the hill from the TV station. There's usually a decent gun and some ammo, and then you can parachute down to some shorter buildings to loot or find other players to surprise.

Hospital is my third choice. High-tail it to land on the roof first, grab a SCAR or M13, then pick guys off as they try to land or come up the ladders.

If I get a good start, regardless of where I drop, I like to go to the cranes at the port. There's usually a loot box or a bolt-action sniper rifle on one of the cranes near the end. You can chill for a minute and wait for movement, and plenty of cover in the operator's compartment and from the railings if you start firing at someone.

I have no clue how one would get kills in that mode with an FAL,... that gun is so hard to do damage with. It sucks too because the FAL was my fav gun in past CoDs, now it’s just, ‘want a .01 kill ratio? This gun is for you!!’

My biggest issue is sustaining accurate fire.

The FAL is great for me because there's almost no recoil, so I just have to get three or four hits in. Burst AR's are good, too, like the FR556 that ND23 recommended I try.

The FAL with the sniper scope is especially effective for me, because then I'm laying down fire from farther out, and have a little more room for error.

Also, apparently Warzone is doing a multiplayer preview this weekend, so I plan to grind the FAL and FR556 as much as I can over the next three days while TDM and other modes are free to play lol

In fact I’d be willing to hear thoughts on strategies for getting kills in Warzone period. I’ve won one on one gun fights but shortly there after their teammates take me out. I’ve never won a team team fight once. Mind you it’s usually just my BiL and I v 3 but still. I’ve gotten to the point where once I’m getting hit I just know it’s over.

I’ve been revisiting the Activision classics I grew up on: Pitfall, Keystone Kapers, Decathalon, etc. Graphics suck balls (they did in the 80s too but there were no alternatives) but they have that retro feel.

Meanwhile my son is dominating MLB The Show ‘20. His generation was made for a quarantine.

Playing with a squad, my bro and I usually move from building-to-building to stock up on cash and ammo. Once of us loots the house while the other watches the doors, then we will drop cash or ammo to each other when it's time to visit buy stations or move to a new location.

I buy armor plate bundles early, then try to win a fire fight against another squad when we find one, then haul ass after looting the cash to reapply new armor plates and buy a UAV or Air Strike.

Basically, our strategy is:

1. Drop in on a location we like and loot guns and cash ASAP
2. Visit a buy station to grab armor plates if we have the cash
3. Move carefully and find a squad that we can get the drop on
4. Apply more armor plates if necessary
5. Repeat steps 2-4 until we're dead or one of the last squads alive
6. Buy a gas mask at some point if you're getting deep into the game

Tfw you realize that the final boss in Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze sits on the Iron Throne and wields the Horn of Winter.

Wait you can give your teammates your cash?? I only play plunder really, maybe that’s a disconnect?

When someone has trouble in an online game, there's usually three things that can be done for big results:

1. Git
2. Gud
3. Skrub

Eh, I can git good in other modes. It just seems to be Warzone I can’t win gun fights in.

Graphics should always be a secondary consideration when it comes to gaming imo, along with sound/music, and I feel the game needs to be judged based on the era it was made. You certainly can't compare Super Mario 64's graphics to the original Super Mario Bros. on NES, it just doesn't work. As such, a game should be judged first on gameplay, characters and development (If applicable), plot, replayability, and lastly sound & graphics (With both being considered against the technology and era they were created in).

There are older games that are so good their dated graphics should not deter people from playing them. Games like Mike Tyson's Punch Out, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario World, etc. These are the kinds of games I share with my kids and they enjoy them too because they are timeless and well made.

If you want to play a newer game with a lot of humor, a retro feel, and lots of replay action check out Streets of Rogue. It's an Indie game I bought awhile back for cheap, it's an 8-bit style beat-em-up or rogue-lite (However you wanna play) with a ton of stuff you can unlock as you play. You can build characters, or use their existing characters that all have different strengths and weaknesses. Playing as a Zombie is an interesting experience, especially in the current virus outbreak. It only takes one or two infected zombies to convert an entire map to your horde. It's amazing how fast something can spread.
