Can you swith the controller combos?

If so, I think the grey and green would be my go-to.

Left and Right are specific, but as long as you have one of each you're good. I've been using gray and yellow.

Hoping Nintendo releases orange, purple, white, and clear.

Or the jetski game that insulted you if you changed the settings in the right way.

How dare you speak dismissively of Wave Race 64. Have you no honor sir?

But for real dolphin cove or whatever was super fun.

Was that available in a demo somewhere? I never had N64, went from SNES to Dreamcast, but for some reason I felt intimately familiar with Dolphin Park.

If you're around my age the chances of you not playing Dolphin Park at a friend's house is slim to none.

I have fond memories of playing Pilotwings 64. I hate the damn Gyrocopter tho. F that stupid contraption. I always stuck with the jet pack and the spring boots events for some reason. Seems like a lifetime ago.

I was a bit older when the 64 came out and didn't like the 'look' of it. I don't think I've ever played a single 64 game. I still love and still play the original SNES Pilotwings though... very fun game.

It wasn't a dismissal... I really couldn't remember the name lol. I kept wanting to say "Jet Moto" but that was a cool Playstation game.

I played the hell out of dolphin park.

We rolled like 20 deep in my neighborhood, but only one (!) kid had an N64 because we were the poors.

Most of us would play football or baseball in his back yard while others took turns on the N64, then we'd switch out.

We did that all day, every day, for two or three summers.

We had some fisticuffs over turns with the N64 a time or two lol.

Really? We were still playing Super Smash Bros. in college in 2009.

Despite being midwest kids, we tried street hockey in the cul-de-sac several times. I think it was because of 'Airborne' and 'Mighty Ducks.'

We never had enough hockey sticks to go around, though.

I had some Walmart goalie leg pads, a baseball glove, a Jason mask, and a catcher's chest protector. It was the best.

That was our other problem... we had no willing goalies. The street got conspicuously empty when we made plans to try hockey.

Yeah, one buddy had Goldeneye and Crusin now that I think on it. I played both of those a bit, but that's it, pretty sure. I was already in High School when it came out I believe that aside from those two games nothing appealed to me at that age in regards to that system. I had already gone down teh PS rabbit hole. SotN, THawk, Driver... games like that.

On hockey, I grew up in ghetto ass SoCal. I had like one other friend who even knew what hockey was... lol. We played basketball and occasionally football when we had enough guys. Baseball was strictly organized, no pickup/sandlot stuff.

As much N64 as I played with friends back in the day, I missed out on Golden Eye. I played it maybe once or twice by chance.

Otherwise, we were playing Wave Racer or Mario Kart 64 or Pokemon Snap.

We played Blitz and Mario Party a lot in college when we dug out an old N64, but no one ever got their hands on Golden Eye.

The Switch must be the ultimate console for people in college now, but I was a student during peak Rock Band so I guess I can't complain too much.

Our dorm room game was Street Fighter Alpha and Tony Hawk... I only really got down with TH tho and watched my friends play SF. Never been a huge fighter game guy. I had my Nintendo still too and we would have og Tecmo Bowl tourneys.

I remember Mari Kart 64 and GoldenEye was THE sleepover games for a long time. And for a while Golden Eye even usurped Mario Kart. It was the most popular game with all of my school friends and my neighborhood kids when it came out. Everyone was playing it.

Bond: Agent Under Fire on the PS2 was one of the first dual analog shooters (maybe the first one??) I ever played and it blew my mind. Liked it much more than Golden Eye and my college buddies and I would have WARS on that game. We'd have the volume so high the walls would shake and such... the way most look back on GE is the way I look back on AUF, it was a super fun game.

Goldeneye was the first FPS where we 4playered it and had a lot of fun. Now Halo, that was a different level. We were lan-partying and when Halo 2 came out, we hooked up to the internet via 100ft ethernet cables, it was pure magic.

I think I slept maybe 15-20 hrs over the course of the first five days of being able to play Halo 2 online.

My first extensive shooter experience was Halo. My cousin brought his Xbox to family vacation, and we stayed up all night every night playing 1v1 and 2v2 at Blood Gulch.

Halo 2 kicked it up a notch... we would connect 8 consoles at a friends house, 2 players per console, and get after it. Our favorite game modes were "Rockets Only" at Foundation or "Swords and Shotguns Only" at Desolation. Good stuff. Many a sleepless night in high school during the offseason.

I went from Agent Under Fire right into the WW2 rabbit hole and stayed there until that bubble burst. I was all in on all of them basically, Brother in Arms, CoD, Medal of Honor.. I played those games so much that it basically made Halo a non factor to me. The only other shooter I got into was Unreal Tournament on ps2... that was good stuff.

Dude, aren't you my age? I originally got a 64 because of my love for the SNES, but quickly started shifting toward Playstation after Square made the jump. Still, N64 was a great system for multiplayer, when I meet up with my old buddies from grade school we get drunk and still play 64. Goldeneye, Mario Kart 64, Smash Bros, Mario 64, NFL Blitz, there were some decent titles there. The Wrestling games like Wrestlemania 2000 and WCW vs. NWO Revenge were also a big step up for wrestling games.

I'm in my late 30s... N64 came off and super cartoonish to me when it hit... when I already had the PS option teenage me was like, "Yeah,... no." I did like playing Goldeneye though.

Yep, exact same experience here. We'd LAN 2-3 systems and still have 2-4 players packed on each xbox/Television combo and that was a lot of fun but when Halo 2 came out, it seriously wrecked my life for 2-3 years.

We all became masters of every weapon. While sniper was most fun, I'd pick up a carbine and bullrush. Same with the needler. Hop on that Warthog and roll around mowing down the other team, perch on a high spot with the snipe and just headshot everyone.

Halo 3 was also a lot of wonderful, wasted time. We'd go get those 3 month XBOX live cards and create new accounts and just wreck people as we level'd up to 48-50 and then start it all over again.

We'd play internal games with ourselves when running doubles like "nothing but stickies this round" or "you can't switch to your alternate weapon" or "beat down deaths only".

Many whiskey-fueled nights of headshots and monster energy drinks to help refocus.
