Back to Pokemon Red for a minute for the nostalgia.

I found a map of all the different ways you can use the Trainer Fly glitch to encounter pretty much any Pokemon you want. You can do this as early as Cerulean City (the second gym), so I set up a team with some Gen I mons you don't normally get to use early on. They default to being level 7 when they appear, so you can raise them from the ground up, which is nice. The only drawback is certain mons weren't programmed to be encountered at low levels, so the Gen I movesets are messed up for some of them.

1. Charmander (gotta keep the starter for the Charizard down the road... maybe)
2. Pikachu (I'm basic)
3. Lapras - usually mid-game
4. Rhyhorn - usually late-game
5. Scyther - usually late-game
6. Mew - duh

The next trainer I encounter would produce a Growlithe, so may be subbing out Charmander.
There's a trainer in Lavender/Pokemon tower that produces a Chansey, so may be subbing out Mew, as well.

Rhyhorn doesn't learn anything besides Horn Attack until level 30 (!), and Scyther's learnset is trash until you get Slash and can add Hyper Beam via TM, but I'm excited to use guys that I haven't had in my party before lol.

I mostly played Rust back in 2014 when it was Early Access. All I remember was hiding from other players trying to raid bases, but the first night I was in a little shack and freezing. I was trying not to use a campfire so I wouldn't be found...didn't work. Some Russian guy located me and starting axing my front door while he yelled in his thick Russian accent, "OPEN ZE DOOR! LEYT ME IN NAO!" Over and over for like 5 minutes until he broke in. I had like...a wooden club and that was it, he made short work of me. Later versions of the game just weren't quite as intense.
Dude, imagine if we had a dedicated IE Rust server? There are not many games like Rust.

Have you tried Ark?
I tried it, but it just didn't hit for me.

Steam's Winter Sale is going on right now for those that are interested. Lasts until January 5th. I picked up Rebel Galaxy for $1.99, it's been collecting dust on my Wishlist for about 6 years so I figured at that price it was a good excuse to scratch it off. Lots of deep discounts going on.

I might finally pull the trigger on Tales of Arise, but there's a bunch of space games on sale that have been on the list awhile and I might finally pull some of them down: RimWorld, Satisfactory, The Planet Crafter, Outer Wilds, Space Engineers, Pulsar: Lost Colony, Stellaris, Avorion, Interstellar Rift, apparently I've got a lot of space items. If anyone has played any of those and wants to sell me, tell me why I should get any of them. It's an eclectic list, I know, and there's more I didn't include  My total wishlist is about 122 deep now.

I played Elite Dangerous in the past, didn't care for it. Empyrion was good, so was Evochron Legacy. No Man's Sky is alright. Starpoint Gemini 2 and Starpoint Gemini Warlords were fun. I played the shit out of a lot of the Star Wars flight games growing up like TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance, Rogue Squadron, etc. I have

I've played Rimworld and it's an incredible game. I would also suggest Dwarf Fortress if you're interested in those types of games. Stranded Alien Dawn is 3D version of Rimworld. Terraria/Stardew/Factorio are classics that are on sale I think. There's a game called Foundation that is a more medieval Cities: Skylines type game. Valheim just pushed a new update out, if you haven't played that I would highly recommend it for a game that can be very peaceful or stressful.

A quick arcadey type game - Diplomacy is Not An Option pretty addicting as is in early access.

That's next!

I've been researching some mods/fan-made games to emulate on the computer. 'Radical Red' with Nuzlocke rules seems to be pretty popular right now.

Whisky, did you ever do an Aard heavy build?? I love maxing out the Aard tree. One hit blowing enemies into pieces is peak Witcher satisfaction imo

I didn't. This was the Signs build I used because I was playing on NG+, and enemies in NG+ were too resistant to Aard and Axii to make much use of them.

It sounds like that's changed with the recent balance updates, which is great. Piercing Cold is such a cool mutation.

I’m talking more initial run as the ps5 upgrade makes you start from scratch. I think I do remember my plus runs needed more of a tank build. I’m only lvl 19 currently, but love Aard.

Never tried a Signs build from level 1. I usually play on Death March, and most Signs builds were pretty weak until you get a bunch of + % Sign Intensity from gear, so it would have been a grind. But with the balance changes and a more reasonable difficulty level, I'd imagine it's great. Knocking humanoids down with Aard for the on-ground sword execution always feels good.

Blowing an entire group of bandits into pieces with one shot,…………….

I appreciate the feedback! Factorio is also on my Wishlist, but I don't think it was on sale this time so I didn't list it. Satisfactory seems similar and was on sale which is why I was thinking about it. I do have Valheim, but haven't installed it yet, was waiting for some buddies to come back to it before I fire it up. I have not heard of Foundation or DiNAO yet, I'll check them out.

So I was just looking at Foundation. It looks decent, but it also looks pretty similar to another game I already have, Banished. Foundation seems more organic though and not so "grid-like" in the construction of it. Kingdoms and Castles is another type of city building game I have that has a War/battle mechanic to it, which I like. I haven't played it since the AI update, but it's a bit like Age of Empries. I might still checkout Foundation if it dips a bit lower.

Diplomacy is Not an Option seems fun though, very interested. It looks like Medieval 2: Total War, but more comical and on a bigger battle scale possibly. That's the closest comparison I can see based on the videos. I love Total War to death, but sometimes I get bogged down building an empire end game when you're trying to manage 30 different provinces and still conqueror the rest of the world. DiNaO might be a nice scaled back version of Total War. Watching those cartoony peasants get thrown in the air when hit by catapult fire was amusing

Yeah, Foundation is still pretty early access and I got around 40ish hours on it. But they have a really good community with mods. Certainly put it in your wishlist and get it when it drops in price.

Dude DIANO is incredible for the price, it's pure dopamine and you can pick it up in like 10 min. Reminds me of old Miniclips type games.

Tonight my older two will be the recipients of a new Nintendo Switch and we're getting the new Sonic game and BOTW. I can't wait to start that journey with them. I've played 10 minutes of BOTW when I borrowed my brothers Switch
My Favorite Zelda game of all time. Enjoy it

Witcher 3 is the most realistic role playing game I’ve ever played. Like I have this daughter that means the world to me and I must find to save her and possibly the world, but unfortunately that’s gotta take a back seat to my gambling addiction in the gwent halls.

Let us know when you turn into an archer build.

Or maybe that's a me problem.

I've always liked being a tank in these games. When I feel I'm strong enough, then I build my archery skills.

oblivion and Skyrim were both so similar I tend to bleed them together in my mind. If anything the graphics is the decider for me,… plus getting to kill that traitor Stormcloak is bigly points for Skyrim.
