Speaking of,... my youngest and I started a 2 player CotM ulk,... very fun so far. We made it to level 5 out of 16 total. My daughter is totally taking it too serious though, gets all anxious at difficult jumps,... work in progress there.

Got the platinum trophy for Jedi: Fallen Order last night.

I even paced my achievements well, so I didn’t have to go back after the end credits and get into some meaningless fights for random achievements.

The game was great, and I look forward to a sequel if it’s in the cards.

The last action sequences had me like whoooooaaaaaa.

Yeah, there's something built in where you can either recruit them, or kill them I think and take their power. Haven't played much, still waiting to co-op it with my buddy.

No that’s the first game,... second is different. Your companions come no matter what in 2,... but at a certain point you can get all the companions from 1. Btw, the choices you refer to in 1 drive the entire story,... if you want the correct ending you have to do it right

ACamp, can you explain wtf they've done with player progression in Road to the Show. I'm a contracts attorney and my eyes go crossed when I try to watch a video explaining this stuff.

Yep they messed it up,… now everything maxes out at 50 sets wise and you have to progress the archetype you want to get any stats to increase from there. You can get equipment too. They also got rid of the knuckleball bc this was all done for online play and people complain about the knuckle online. It took me a while but I’m having fun with it. Tho I wish they never would have messed with it. Got rid of tear to year saved too. Basically find the archetype or load out that works best with your position and progress that

So this is kind of belongs in the Things the wife says thread but Im putting here. My wife and I both play ESO and have for several years. Her game play is much different from mine as she focus more on the exploration, crafting and overland content as for me Im into the much harder content like 12 man trials and veteran level 4 man dungeons (hard modes). I love the game becasue to earn the hihg quality gear and traits you HAVE to complete this content.

That being said when you complete these you typically get some skin which is a badge of honor. I was with my 12 man group and we finally completed a trial that took us 2 months (8 tries) to finish. I was super siked and told my wife and she kind of blew me off like it was some skin from Fortnite.

Later I had the skin on and both of us joined a PUG to do some veteran 4 man content. I showed up in the skin and she was giving me a hard time like "ok man aint no one gonna care about that ish."

Not two seconds later the other two PUGs knew each other and were checking us out to make sure we were not gonna struggle as a group and they said, between themselves on the mic, I shit you not..." Well this guy has been through sunspire so hes good... but who is this scrub?" The scrub being my wife. LMAO

This is the FIRST time in 20 years my wife has ever admitted to being wrong about anything.

As the kids would say "GG ez claps, get rekt nerd".

Pulled off an ace in Rainbow Six, and the GF hits me with "Wow, those guys must have been so bad. You usually get killed so easily".

Hell yeah gf.

Anyone ever play the OG Rainbow Six back in the day? Had to do mission planning and all this stuff. Pretty neat. I was too young to really understand it. Bet it was dope AF for older folks.

So I stopped getting rid of systems after Ps2,… just stash them away. My nephew came over to hang with his favorite uncle yesterday and he, his cousins and I broke out old school Left 4 Dead on 360. Still a really fun party game. We played for hours.

You got rid of systems?!

I'm with you, but I stopped getting rid of stuff after we sold the NES. Regretted it, which is why I bought one again in 2000 and started collecting games. I first just sought out the games I used to have, then the ones I rented, then the ones I wanted to play but never got to, and so and and so forth. My daughter and her cousins regularly break out the Rock Band 3 on PS3 though. I've got over 330 songs added as DLC so it would take them forever to play the whole library, but they always play the same 20-30 songs by Billy Joel, Queen, Elton John, Green Day, and a few other groups. I'm beginning to understand why somebody started the fire...because they had to hear the song ALL. THE. DAMN. TIME.

My daughters finally talked me into playing Minecraft with them,… basically video game legos,… so being the asshole that I am I immediately took the highest ground and am building berchtesgaden completely with the eagles nest with a subterranean tunnel that leads to the chancellery and even further off hitlers bunker,….

You playing on PC or Switch/console?

Minecraft is kinda shit for adults, unless you're playing on PC and get into modding. I started messing around with "Feed the Beast" mod packs years ago and it changes Minecraft into a whole different game that adults can really enjoy. This is a super old trailer for the Direwolf modpack, but it was one of my favorites because of all the tech stuff you can build. You can see some of it about 1/3 of the way through the trailer:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8RVvS0E2nI

There's a whole progression on the tech stuff where you're making basic generators first, then geothermal generators, all the way up to nuclear reactors...and some of the reactors are insanely complicated to create, to the point where there can be a 12x12 grid (Or bigger) where you have to fill each spot out with either Uranium, coolant, fans, etc...and if it's not balanced the right way the shit melts down and you have a big, radioactive pit where your reactor once stood.

You don't have to get into nuclear stuff, but it's fun to work with and see how much power you can generate. There's other power sources too, like solar, wind, water, etc. What do you need all that power for? Automated miners, for one (You can see some of them in the trailer). There's also mining lasers, and powered swords, nano armor, and plenty of other shit. If techy stuff isn't your thing there's also modpacks with more fantasy/magic stuff involved. There's modpacks that add different dimensions with extra bosses and enemies. Some of these modpacks are so large it can take 3-5 minutes for the game to first load, but you can also use scaled down compilations. I honestly haven't played around with it all that much, I tend to stick with the tech side of things mostly...it's just fun building machines and then hooking everything up with wires so they work together. My daughter likes to get into her own world in Creative mode though and mess with the extra deco stuff in modpacks. She'll create entire towns that are pink with swing sets, fancy beds, fancy lanterns, you name it.

The best thing about the Feed the Beast modpacks is you no longer have to open up .jar files and edit things to get the mods to work like the old days. Everything is included in installers for you, so you just download and then take off from there.

Been playing a lot of Hell Let Loose when home on the weekends. So far, it's only USA v. Germany WW2 maps. Several Normandy, Bulge, and German border maps. I think the next big update is adding Soviet maps, including Stalingrad.

Game does a nice job balancing some MilSim concepts with some more gamer-friendly ones. Squad-based game. Pretty fun. If anyone has it and wants to play, hit me up.

What're 2-3 most hyped video games for the upcoming year? I'm trying to decide if I'm going to buy a new console for my son and I haven't played games for over a year so I'm out of the loop.

I'm waiting on the next Elder Scrolls game...

These damn Youths eat up these games. Sad reality of where games are heading.

It *could* be cool, as long as they handle things correctly (LOL) and don't create an AC-style battle-royale that suddenly becomes their soul focus.

Going live-service allows them to sell their DLC 'seasons' individually without a base game, which is smart for them, but spells doom for the super nerds that still want to see where they are ultimately trying to end up with the modern-day story (hahahaha, definitely not me *he said, while wearing cosplay First Civilization armor*).

If I was super optimistic, I would say that this will allow them to go in wildly different directions with each release. You could be in the crusades one minute, then the next season drops and you're in Atlantis hanging out with First Civ folks that are pretending to be Greek gods. Then three months later you're in the Caribbean sailing a ship and doing pirate stuff. That would be cool.

But I have zero faith that they'll deliver consistently, especially with all of prominent AC writers and world-builders leaving.

AC has been on a quality decline for a few years now, not surprised they are doing this.

I’m prob not offering what you’re looking forward but I can’t wait for next gen sports gaming,… NHL release is my current deadline to upgrade to ps5

They eat up Fortnight. It's amazing to me how many game companies are continuing to throw their hats into the "games as a service" ring when almost all of them have been huge embarrassing flops.

Netflix is reportedly going to start offering games as part of its service, so this trend is likely to continue.
