One of my favorite songwriters. I still love "Outfit" from Drive-by Truckers.

Favorite line from "If it Takes a Lifetime":

"Don't keep liquor here
Never cared for wine or beer
And working for the County keeps me pissing clear"

I saw those guys live opening for Coheed and Cambria, I believe. Not bad.

Ghost BC - Missionary Man (cover)

I am really digging Highly Suspect's song Little One right now.

I recently saw Coheed and Cambria at the metal festival Las Rageous in Vegas. A lot of cool bands to see during the two days.

Not sure if anyone in here is into country, I'm sure there is since I see the FGL reference above.
But I've been listening to Jon Pardi's new album California Sunrise and it's pretty damn good. Always been a Pardi semi-fan but dang this one is really good.

JayZ/Linkin Park "Collision Course" is still a top-5 album for me.

Every mashup was dope.

This is a bummer.

Went to see a concert Wed. Night and it was Russian Circles, Eagles of Death Metal snd Mastadon

Russian Circles was excellent. I had heard them on my Pandora channel and they are in the same realm of music as ISIS but a bit more ethereal and instrumental.

I used to listen the EoDM a long time ago but they still got it and were totally fun. Like rocksbilly meshed with a bit of thrash and surfer culture. Its now clear to me that Josh Fromm is my kindred spirit. Everytime I discover something new he is right in the middle of it. Him and Mike Patton might my two biggest musical influences.

Mastadon.... no words. They are at the top of their game right now. Amazing musicians and good guys. My kid loves them. Its his go to at the moment.

Also listening to ISIS, Baroness, Cancer Bats, and rediscovering older bands like Motorhead and Dead Kennedys with the kid. Its fun watching him discover things he loves.

I bet the next two songs that played after you wrote that were:

Third Eye Blind - Jumper
Semisonic - Closing Time

I'm 100% in this phase. I knew the importance of Lemmy on some bands but when it's said and done, he's the Father of Modern Rock. Hard to believe Ace of Spades was released almost 37 years ago. If it was released tomorrow it would still be fresh.

There's a good documentary on Lemmy floating around on Netflix or Amazon. Super interesting stuff.

Baroness is the bomb. I have a friend who has seen them live about 5 times, I need to join him. That whole Canadian punk/hardcore scene has some great bands: Cancer Bats, Black Lungs, Alexisonfire, Moneen, etc.

Greta Van Fleet with their EP “Black Smoke Rising” is getting a lot of pub as a young Led Zeppelin. I thought at least 2 of the songs were very good.

That kid's voice deserves better musicians and production.

^^^ Hard to believe that song is almost 40 years old. It was like someone from the future went back to the Rainbow Bar and saw Lemmy sitting there and handed him <strike>a CD</strike> an 8 track and said, "Change the world."

Kia has a Hamster commercial using it to push Soul's. Isn't advertising tacky and grand?

LOL...
I've got to be in the mood for Motorhead, but when I am, it's rockin.

Here's another from that mood playlist.... .
