This sh!t just blows me away. Terry Kath is without doubt the most underrated musician in rock & roll history.

Played the crap out of that album when it came out. A lot of great songs. Question 67 or 68 doesn't get near the play time it should like 25 or 6 to 4 does. Of course the city of Chicago got their undies in a bunch and made them change their name.

Currently listening to Motown and soul in my office.
Al Green
Temps
Tops
Marvin Gaye
Supremes
etc.
etc.

COC just released the first song from the new album. It's awesome. Beautiful mix of black sabbath and thin lizzy. 12 years in the making

Just caught Blackberry Smoke open for Aaron Lewis. Blackberry Smoke reminds me a lot of Skynyrd in that they include everything from a fun, party song, a small town ballad to a timeless anthem. And obviously...they’re long-haired country boys.

Bass player looks like he was abducted by aliens multiple times though... lol

Saw them live Wednesday night, and Mike Dean is definitely a piece of work. The guy can finger his four string like few others though, amazing talent. There's another new song out if you haven't heard it yet, there's another new song, and the album drops Tuesday.

Just to give a bit of context to this whole deal: I was all of 12 when S&G recorded the song. They were "folkies." As was Bob Dylan and many others of the time that were an incredible and positive influence moving forward. While I may not like (or appreciate) the Hip-Hop and Rap genres, I understand and appreciate their existence.

I have no idea what other work Disturbed has issued, but this caught my attention and stirred my memories and heart strings.

It's nice to know that down the road there are those who look back with appreciation.
Dshans, what are your thoughts on the radio mix of the song, the sped up version with the goofy percussion track laid on top of it? I think it's a travesty.

I'm not sure if you're talking about the remix of S&G's Wednesday Morning 3 AM original or a mucking around with the Disturbed rendition. I'll do some internet digging and get back to you.

I agree. I much prefer the initial recording.

That radio version, though, garnered attention. A touch of jangly Dylan-gone-electric.

It did help get Simon and Garfunkle a well deserved stage.

I find that a little digging can be highly rewarding.
