Why are we doing a Rockne tribute during the season in which Ara passed?

They obviously made the decision to do the Rockne jerseys long ago. Just looks like bad timing with Ara's death.

I'll bet ND, NU & UA do something for Ara at next year's game in Evanston.

Love the jerseys, the helmets, the cleats, the gloves. Great job by UA. I've been a detractor of their choices thus far but I think this is really good. And I'm not a blue blood.

green bay packers did a similar thing few years back with their "Acme Packers" throwbacks complete with brown helmets. They were pretty badass then the NFL changed the multi helmet rule and fucked up throwbacks forever.

Disagree. I always thought those throwbacks were ugly. The Packers uniform is as classic as any other in the NFL, don't mess with it. The only time I like when the Bears mess with their uniform is the orange lettering "throwback"

the helmet has some decals on it to make it look like strips sewn together in a leather helmet. i like that idea. i think they made it look more bronze though rather than brown as the packers did to appease people. Texas A+M did a leather helmet motif a few seasons ago that i really liked. Unfortunately they paired it with a modern uniform because Adidas are douche canoes and have no idea how to create uniforms anymore.

This is so minor. If you are currently hyped or disgruntled, you forgot your meds this morning.

I like the execution on the cleats. A signed pair would look nice on the shelf above my matching buckskin couch. Looks like UA outsourced them from Allen Edmonds, I have a pair of driving mocs pretty close to those.
