Made a 16oz sirloin with two rib steaks tonight on the Weber.
Decided to marinate and used ChatGPT for the recipe.
Combo of Soy, Worcestershire, garlic, arsenic , onion power, black pepper and a couple others.
Sautéed mushrooms and onions in butter for a topping.
Sirloin was cooked nicely to medium-rare.
5-stars, would come again.

I can't find anything better than Hardcore Carnivore Black on steaks with some compound blue cheese butter to finish.
Bleu cheese butter sounds killer.

Also was in St Augustine this weekend and stopped by a place called “Burrito Works Taco Shop” and got their signature UFO (the works style). It’s basically a legit crunch wrap supreme. Top freaking notch.

I tried something different tonight. I'm in Fargo for a few days visiting my brother, and he took me to a Somalian restaurant. Fargo has a significant Somalian population and one of his coworkers was raving about the food there, so we decided to give it a try. It was seriously good! We had beef sambosas (a pastry filled with spicy ground beef) as an appetizer, then we ordered beef suqaar and chicken suqaar and split those two entrees between us. Suqaar is basically Somalian stir fry: meat, onions, carrots, bell pepper, and some cumin, tumeric and cilantro, served with spicy rice. I thought it was somewhat similar to Lebanese food. It was definitely delicious. Will absolutely go back again.

Roscoe's Tacos. Love the place.
Had it again today

I know “Roscoe”. His stepdaughter is my buddy’s wife. His other stepdaughter is Catt Sadler. He played college hoops at Butler back in the day too.

He also used to own the old Harvester Bar on Brookeville and Arlington if you remember that place. That’s where I first met him but didn’t know he was “Roscoe” at the time.

I would love a little seafood now and then, but my daughter is allergic so we never have it.
Allergic to all seafood?? Like, that’s a thing??

Interesting,… I’m allergic to smoke, which is technically impossible so I guess I get it.

Shellfish for sure, and at least one or two normal fish. She'll break out in hives if she has the fish from Long John Silvers, whatever they put in that. Same thing with the shellfish.

She may not actually be allergic to fish. If she has a reaction to eating fish from a restaurant, it's probably because they fry it in the same oil they fry shrimp, clams, and crabs in.

It’s so good. I need to make my own kimchi soon,… Korean BBQ is tough to beat
True but I’m a big noodle guy and that stuff is amazing. Kimchi is fantastic and goes amazing with rice and if you have never had Korean fried chicken you havent lived.

On another note if anyone is ever in Philly and looking for a great restraint try SamPam in central Philly. I go ever year for my B day and the foods amazing.

Neither of us felt like cooking last night, so I made grilled cheese. Honey Oat bread with American, White Cheddar and Colby Jack. Boom baby!

I love a good grilled cheese, and yours sounds good. I make mine with Dakota 12 Grain bread or Rye, and use smoked cheddar, grated parmesan, lemon pepper seasoning, and dill pickles. Sounds weird, but they're phenomenal.

I love to cook but I’ve tried to make grilled cheese sandwiches a few times and muck it up royally,… go figure. I apparently can’t cook a grilled cheese. Lol

I’m making cornbread and red beans and rice Friday. Already looking forward to it.

The key to a great grilled cheese is to use mayo instead of butter to brown the outsides of the bread.

I like to get a loaf of sourdough from the bakery at the grocery store, cut semi-thick slices, coat liberally with Kerrygold butter, then put Colby Jack and sharp cheddar shredded cheese between two slices of white american. Movie-quality cheese pulls when you take a bite.
