Hey guys. Hope all is well. Just a quick drive by but I have been keeping up with this thread and been drinking my standard fare still. I have purchased several new bourbons that I have not had before and I found them to be very good and wanted to pass on:
Old Weller Antique -damn good wheat
Weller 12 year- poor mans Pappy 23. About as close as I have ever had to pappy 23
Old Weller 102 proof - damn good wheater and strong too.
Baby Sazerac whiskey. Excellent rye. Smooth and tasty. Definitely worth the money on the secondary market.
Elmer T Lee bourbon. Very good for the price. One of my new favorites as a daily drink. Hard to find here though. Had to get this from an ABC store in Virginia.

To top it off I had my fantasy draft tonight which was also a bourbon tasting lol and had a few samples of the following:
EH Taylor small batch. Excellent. Heavy nose but smooth drinking. Liked it best neat.
Eagle rare -10 year. Not my fav. A little too sweet for me but most people love it.
Four Foses Barrell strength- Excellent Excellent Excellent
Pappy23.... There really is not anything like it.
Blantons gold. Blantons is just my favorite hands down. This is yet another Blantons product that does not disappoint.

Anyway. Y'all keep on keepin on. Go Irish. Beat Texas.
Great to see you doing well!

Sam Adams Toasted Caramel Bock. I am not a fan of Sam Adams beer but it reminds me of my dad so I grabbed the Fall mixed pack.

A very sweet beer. If you reduced it down it might make a decent syrup for an ice cream.

Sam Adams Bonfire Blonde. Horrific. Tastes like dirty water with a lot of liquid smoke dumped in it.

Stone IPA to cleanse the palate.

I got that pack a week ago... Hoppy Red was the best IMO... Was surprised as reds aren't my thing... Not a huge Sam guy either.

So I get off early tomorrow and may make a run to Jester King. Other than that, I'm just gonna get beer and drink Chartreuse and Cadillac Margaritas on Sunday.

Narragansett Lager. It's like PBR but worse. I bought it to cook into my chili but I haven't filled my growlers yet so the tall boys are all I have.

Box wine. Cause I'm a classy mother ****er.

Haha, I had some a number of years ago,... It was so awkward, I felt like you couldn't get all the wine out of the bag/box... Wasting wine is for the poors....

You take the bag OUT of the box and drink from the spigot, ya poor.

To do it right, you pull the plastic bag from the box, inflate it by blowing into the opened spigot, clip a corner of the bag with scissors and then pour/squeeze as many drops as you can into your jelly jar glass.

Or you just don't buy boxed wine.

What? You think I'm made of money?

I live on social security and occasional investment dividends.

I pick my battles and make libation decisions cautiously and with fiscally conservative motives.

Politics are a whole 'nother matter ...

There was a night amongst friends where we were supposed to casually watch a couple Disney films...so of course I bought a box of wine, pulled the bag out, and killed it.

What are you 15?

Stop you are just making it worse.

* Also canned wine is where it is at. In particular the Underwood brand has some good ones.

Funny you mention that: Just had a reunion with some buddies from prison, and we split a bag of pruno while watching The Little Mermaid and Cinderella.

Holy Shit! There are still canned wines?

I haven't seen them on shelves, or anywhere else, in decades.

I think that the last I was exposed to them was on an Eastern Airlines flight from Orlando to Chicago, with a South Shore (Vomit Comet) train "connection" to South Bend/Notre Dame in 1971.

It is becoming popular again. Some are shit and some are pretty good.

Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine aged 8 months.

In high school my friends and I used to call Bigfoot liquid drunk. First time I bought it, we were like, "Sierra Nevada put out a 4-pack, wtf?" 4 Bigfoot later, I understood the civic responsibility of the 4-pack (9.6% alcohol by volume according to the website.. I remember it being higher-- that was almost 20 years ago).
