The wife found it at Whole Foods.. Hopefully I don't turn purple, croak and die.

Tell me how you feel about the all-day. I was disappointed in it. It's got this extra flavor on the backend that tastes extremely chemical to me, and I really love IPAs.

It wasn't a "sharp" IPA that stings the tongue, which I prefer over the light IPA's that have become en vogue. That being said, I liked it and thought it was exactly what I thought it would be, a light IPA that you could drink "all day".

My wife said the same thing about the after taste though. I didn't taste it. But I smoked a lot of weed today.

That's interesting. The evening I had the all-day I was eating some pretty spicy food and I didn't notice that. I wonder if my palate was off from the spice.

Have you had it multiple times with the same experience?

Have you had the Lagunitas Day Time IPA or the Stone Go To IPA? If so did you find that flavor in them?

I got a canned six pack because I love Founders. It was consistent.

I've had the Lagunitas, and it was ok. Definitely no nasty aftertaste.

Sweet Jeezus!

Where were you and this internet thing-a-ma-bob when my (ex) wife decided that I drank too much accused me of spending too much to do so!

As if my beer and bourbon budget came close to her blouse and blow-out budget!!!

Hell, as my hairline receded so did the need and cost for my occasional trims.

I thought this was a thread on drinking, not sex.

Made a big breakfast to celebrate law school finals being over for me and my roommate. We'll be drinking Founders KBS with our bacon.

Went to Total Wine today and Founders just started distributing to AZ so I grabbed a few single bottles to sample what is available (I picked up the All Day IPA, the Centennial IPA, the Porter and Dirty Bastard, the only one I didn't grab was the Pale Ale). Sadly none of the Stouts made it to AZ. I also grabbed a few other singles such as the Sierra Nevada Hoptimum and Victory Dirtwolf (finally saw a bottle of it and I want to see how it measures up to having it from a growler).

First up is the Founders Centennial IPA.

N: While pouring it I got a big blast of citrus (mostly orange and grapefruit). After letting it sit for a bit some dank herbal hops, some malt notes such as saltine crackers and caramel.
P: This is a little all over the place but pretty well balanced. Definite sweetness upfront with orange, grapefruit and some malt notes, then a big burst of herbal hops that is a little drying and dominates the other flavors.
F: On the finish the malt mostly disappears leaving the fruit and bitter herbal hops to fight it out with the herbal hops winning.

Overall a good beer especially if you like slightly more balanced IPAs. Having said that I am more of a fan of the West Coast IPA so I probably won't rush out to buy more, but I wouldn't mind trying this on tap some other day.

Mint Juleps. Not the $1000 style though.

Founders All Day IPA.

Overall Ok, a little citrus, a little pine, a little herbal hops and a little cracker malt. Nothing amazing but nothing bad about it, though the finish tastes a little like eating bitter flowers.

How did you like it compared to the Lagunitas and Stone session ipa's?

Not really a big fan of any of the 3. I think that the Stone is the best (but costs the same as the standard Stone IPA), the Lagunitas is the most unique and better priced at $8 a six pack and the Founders is just ok and probably the worst of the 3 (though the Sierra Nevada session IPA is by far the worst). I personally am not a huge fan of the session IPA craze.

Bell's Black Note Stout. Bell's attempt at a bourbon barrel aged stout. Good beer but not worth the hefty price tag. (26.99/4 pack)
