I got off work yesterday and was looking forward to picking up some respectable whiskey to cap off Turkey Day. Most liquor stores are either closed or close early. But the little corner shop near my place is always open. We had a state of emergency for a hurricane last year and they were still open. So I figured "no sweat, those guys will be there for me." But I drive by, and the store is dark. I had to pull over, fall to my knees, reach my hands to the heavens, and yell "NOOOOOOOO!"
So, without any booze, I was forced to finish my hard-earned holiday having milk and cookies and watching "Action Jackson" on cable until I drifted off to sleep.
Let this be a lesson to you, lads. Like a Boy Scout, be prepared, and keep your liquor cabinet well stocked. Or this could be your unfortunate fate as well.
