Bought the booze for Super Bowl Sunday today. Lots of beer for me and the guys, my wife is making Godiva chocolate martinis for the ladies.

Alpha King is my fave with Gumballhead right behind it. My wife is from Munster so I was introduce to Three Floyd's through her. Damn good.

Sadly, I was a beverage philistine during my 7 years in South Bend, so I never got to try 3Floyds when I had the chance.

And now that I'd like to, they don't distribute to my state.

It is spectacular. Good to have in the area too - any time you're in SB Whiskey make a side trip. Definitely worth it.

Just had this one, first time I've had this beer. Needless to say, I'm a big fan (wish it was cheaper though):

Switching gears to this now, real smooth finish on this IPA but not as hoppy as Little Sumpin Sumpin or their regular IPA:

Very nice. Rochefort 10 is one of my favorite beers.

Tonight for me Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye and Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye.

I am sure I have had a Rye but can't recall. Is it a red beer? Is it bitter? I will just have to get some rye beer to remember I guess.

It is similar in color to a red beer. They can be bitter but that depends on the brewery and how much/what hops they use. The Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye is pretty good with a decent rye bite while the Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye is really good but has a very minimal rye taste.

It pretty good. Very smooth. I'm not good at giving flavor profiles, but it's the best Bud beer I've had. I still prefer micros. I'd be interested to see what you have to say about it.

Smithwick's. One of the few upsides to winter is that putting the case outside gets it colder faster than my fridge can manage.

The times I've hosted Super Bowl parties the frigid weather here in Minneapolis came in handy. I'd put two to three inches of water in two large Coleman coolers and leave them on the back stoop a few days before the game. Just before the party was to start I'd haul them in, pour more water on the ice and place them near the front door. Guests would put the beer they'd brought with them in the coolers and then grab one as needed.

A week later there was still some ice – and beer for me. Oh, and Smithwick's is a good choice.

Atwater Block is a local brewer in The D. First time trying this beer, nothing special, just ok for a double IPA

ZOMBIE DUST

Glad to see I have some other fans on here.

We have it on tap at one of our bars here at Purdue... Tuesday night, two dollar pint night... I'm always sure to get a couple of those in my belly after my shittastic tuesdays.

Real quality beer, especially on draft.

Tried some Arbor Mist Moscato mixed with some flavored 99 proof over the weekend. That was pretty good

Tried Great Divide Hibernation Ale last night. English Style Ale that was very malty. Pretty good. Also had my go to beer, Upland Brewery Dragonfly. Grey IPA brewed in Bloomington, IN.

How was it?

My favorite wit, by far. Rather expensive for such a simple style though.

I was surprised to discover today that four-packs are almost always a better deal than bombers. If you're accustomed to buying bombers, compare the price/ oz to a four pack of the same beer.
