Over the weekend.
Firestone Luponic Distortion 005. Just ok.
Modern Times Blazing World. Very good as always.
Lagunitas Waldo's Special Ale. Great but a bit boozier than last year.
Boulevard Rye on Rye on Rye. Great, lots of rye spices, oak, vanilla and some nice dark fruit.

I can't find Lagunitas Waldo's Special Ale anywhere here, I'm gonna need to ask around.

Bell's Poolside. Didn't look at it too closely when I got a single can. Suggest you skip it.

Shiner Bock... haven't had this in years,... don't remember enjoying it like this, decent taste and very refreshing on a hot afternoon.

Tried Founder's Frootwood over lunch today. Too sweet for my tastes, but very flavorful and it hides its 8% ABV well. Will probably pick up a 6er from Total Wine to see if the women in my clan take to it.

Which one? Thoughts?

I had a Bulleit Rye double neat today.
Just the plain? It was decent. I wouldn't go back to it at the price plateau.

Oaked Community Mosaic IPA. The normal mosaic is great and this is pretty decent too. Way more bitter.

One of my main drinks right there.

Thought the same things when I tried it. Thought it was pretty good and wouldn't ever turn one down, but at that price point, probably would buy a different bottle.

I'm glad somebody backed me up. I'm glad I tried it, but I'd prefer the Bulleit

I am glad to hear that. Did you have last years? If so how do you think that they compare?

Just finishing a Lagunitas Lucky 13. Going to go and grab something else.

Yes I did. I preferred last year's.

Which one is Lucky 13?

I agree that last years was better. Less boozy and a touch less sweet. Still a great value though for the price. I don't know how Lagunitas keeps putting out very good to great beers at such reasonable prices.

Lucky 13 is a hoppy imperial Red. It was originally brewed back in 2006 to celebrate their 13th anniversary. A good but not great beer. Some nice caramel malt, herbal/floral bitterness and some citrus (orange and grapefruit standout).

Hmm. When I saw the label for 13 I thought it was Mondo or whatever last year's summer seasonal release was. Since I didn't care for it, I didn't bother. I might have to pick up a single from HEB

I believe that we are talking about the same beer but it is usually released in the Spring. I think that it is a good beer (especially since I got it for $8 a 6 pack) but not great. If you had it during the summer, the hops probably faded which would definitely impact the taste.

I just looked it up and you're right. I doubt I'll try it though, because I really didn't care for it last year at all.

Balvenie 12yo Single Barrel. Just a very good whisky. Lots of vanilla, apples, honey, lemons, coconut, and a touch of oak.

So never had, always been aware of, La Fin Du Monde... I think most rec price matters to me so I never picked it up, but was in an odd mood today... said what the hell?.... It's very good

I made the mistake of overloading on winter beers and now I have to clean out to make room for spring. Oh darn. It's going to be a good afternoon.

Starting with Harpoon Winter Warmer. Tastes like someone figured out a way to brew and bottle banana bread. Really excellent. Surprised to see it has such poor reviews.

Spring? Don't you mean summer? It is already in the high 90's here.

Yesterday I had a 32oz growler of Knee Deep Lupulin River DIPA.

Our winter was an entire month late. We had an extremely mild December and then it snowed well into March. It's just now consistently in the 60s.
