I love the artwork on the Ballast Point Red Velvet Nitro that just came out.

Ballast Point's branding has always been top notch.

Yeah but the price point!!! Lol

A stout made with beets,... that sounds.... disgusting.... but I'm not a big beet fan....

So fine.... my wife got me some mixology books and and a bar set for christmas. I have been drinking bourbon neat to gain an appreciation for the various juices and now that Ithink I know what I am tasting I have been doing alot of cocktails lately... trying different things and such.

Tonight I made an Old Fashoned with EH Taylor Small Batch. This is fantastic. Will be a good one anytime.

Making my own beer, transformed a chest freezer to a 4-tap kegerator. Painted it black with wooden trim and it turned out great. Have a vanilla porter 1 week into fermentation, and started an amber ale yesterday. Very excited.

Michelob Golden - heavy tonight.

Word on the street is that Michelob Golden(regional beer for you peons slumming it in your shantytowns) is actually thought to be better than Bud Light by the folks at Anheuser-Busch but Budweiser is their premier brand so they want to keep it regional to prevent it from overtaking Budweiser/Bud Light.

Today
Coronado North Island IPA. Very good and worth trying.
Lagunitas Hop Stoopid IPA. Glad to see this in 12pz bottles and relatively fresh.
Stone Tangerine Express IPA. Just ok.

Griffin Claw Project Clementine Imperial IPA. First sampling of the trade package from Jackalope.

I can confirm that there is clementine flavor. Hazy appearance. Lots of clementine and other citrus in the taste. Juicy. Sneaky strong (9%). If the rest of the package is as good as this, I'm gonna be very happy.

I finally tried Bells Hopslam. I was worried it wouldn't live up to expectations given the hype, but I was pretty impressed. Bells tendency towards sweeter/malty beers (which takes away from Two Hearted, IMO) works out well for Hopslam. For a 10%abv DIPA, it goes down smooth and doesn't have the bitter rough edges that I don't like in some DIPAs. Must try again before that barrel is gone; it won't last long.

Cigar City Jai Alai Oak Aged India Pale Ale

I think Cigar City just started shipping to TN because I saw Jai Alai for the first time since I moved here this Saturday. I didn't buy it because I had literally just bought 750 ml of green chartreuse and didn't want to add to the damage. I'm pretty excited though because that is a great beer.

Alpine is owned by Green Flash, so I'm pretty surprised you don't have good distribution in Arizona.

Good to know! When I first learned of Alpine, it was nearly impossible to come by here without trading across state lines. So I haven't really been looking out for it. But since Green Flash acquired them in late 2014, their flagship labels are carried by Total Wine now.

Split a bomber of The Bruery's Gypsy Tart and a 375ml of Alpine's Farmer's Reserve Citrus. The former was solid, but didn't blow me away. The latter was pretty remarkable though. Tart, light and refreshing. Wish it was easier to get Alpine brews out here...

I think you mean Almanac's Farmer's Reserve Citrus. Almanac is available at Bevmo and at a lot of local places.

The Bevmo by me carries about 5 of their sours.

ETA: Also I think that many of Almanac's sours are very good. I have had probably 5 of them that ranged from pretty good to great.

Made a margarita but was out of Cointreau so I pooled some agave syrup at the bottom the glass. So I'm not really sure if I have a margarita or a bastardized tequila old fashioned.

One for every person there?

I'm on mobile, or you'd get reps. Our 50 million dollar remodeled arena sits about 5500. It'll have about 4000 tonight I'd guess.

Wasn't so long ago NDSU beat ND...

Edit: looks about 5000 on TV. I may need more beer

Seems like a wise investment of $50 mil.
