I tried it tonight for the first time. I didn't think I'd like it because I'm not into face-smacking hoppiness, but it was pretty good.

Trying a new drink for New Years tonight, called a Black Russian from Dublin. Equal parts vodka, Kahlua, Guinness, and cola.

a 32oz Growler of New Belgium LOF Wild Wild Dubbel. It is ok. Easy to drink but nothing special. On a positive note it was only $6.99 for the 32oz.

Sick as hell and about to head out. Tonight either ends like the Jordan Flu Game, or Rex Grossman in the Super Bowl. I'm putting it at 50-50 right now.

Yes. I have had 5 or 6 Tomatin's.

Haven't tried it yet, but a local store is promoting it, only 29.99, told me I would be impressed, if I like I might stock up at that price. Figured you may have tried it pk, what do you think?

Not a good whisky but definitely drinkable. I say buy a bottle and quickly run home and try it and see if you like it. If you do buy some more. Definitely worth trying at that price point.

New Belgium and Cigar City BC's Lips of Faith collaboration beer that is an Ale brewed with chilies. Just ok.

Last night had Rogue's Mocha Porter that was just ok too.

Dogfish Head Burton Baton - One of my all time favorites.

Stone Ruination chaser (not bad either)

Sam Adams is great for the basic Pilsner drinker taking that first leap into craft... but once that leap is taken it's hard to stick with many of thier beers... Cherry Wheat used to be great... now it tastes like cough syrup... some of their IPA stuff is still pretty good.

Oskar Blues Ten Fidy Imperial Stout.

Wow. Not messing around with this beer. At 10.5%, it almost has brandy notes to it...but with the texture and coffee notes of a stout.

Very nice.

How is it?

Solid West Coast IPA. I had just had something sweet, so I think it tasted hoppier on my first couple of sips. As I've settled into it, I think it's decent. Pretty light malt. Read a review that it's heavy on vanilla notes. I get some of that, but don't think it's overpowering.

I'm on ginger ale and whiskey tonight. Have to make do while being snowed in down in indianapolis. We've exhausted our beer rations.
