despite the history, this one is ND big. this QB cannot beat our guys. he's one of the worst i've seen in college football. scary he's their best option.

The good news is that ND will be focus and fired up after their CFP ranking. The bad news is that the safety situation will be an utter debacle for the first half, and we're playing away on a crappy field against a team that will employ the same mug-the-receivers coverage plan. Will we get calls this week?

Pittsburgh has a worse defense than Temple by all accounts, but a better offense. Boyd is the best WR we've played against since USC. Pittsburgh hasn't beaten a single FBS team by more than a score this year, so it seems like this should be a close one some way or another. I'll take ND by less than a TD... Pitt has some success in the first half, ND gets a lead in the 4th quarter that they don't relinquish.

Irish struggle as usual against Pitt and take some time to get up to speed with the first noon game in God knows when.

Irish squeak by 24-22

IF KVR can shut down Boyd (which I think he can) and DK takes care of the rock then i think we win by three scores. I'm going to the game and we are 23-4 in games that I attend...that's got to matter doesn't it?

ND 34
Pitt 17

Defense gives up two big plays but shuts down most everything else. Pitt offense is not great like Lax said. Offense does enough with the passing game but Procise struggles to run again (Pitt is #34 in Rushing D and #27 in Passing D). I would like to see more Adams if Procise struggles again. I think this game sets up for Kizer to have to make plays with his feet again. OL needs to get their crap together. Another tough road game although the boys need to get used to it.

I am going 10 point Irish victory. 24-14

ND secondary play remains very inconsistent, which is scary. Pitt D will test the Irish run game. ND seems to struggle against Pitt all the time. Irish pull out a close one though 27-23.

Against my better judgement, Notre Dame has turned a corner,... they hulk smash those they should hulk smash moving forward... Pitt is first in line... ND by at least 21

I think, with lessons learned from Temple, and the boost from the committee rankings we push on and win comfortably.

Everyone has a right to their opinion.. But what about last weeks game says "Turned a corner"

ND has struggled to put away teams all year... 21 seems like a ton

I believe that the OLine will dominate unless there are a lot of unspoken nuisance injuries bothering everyone. Our mediocre run blocking has been more of a result of poor TE play that the Five Mountain Men.

Temple, to my eyes, was one of those rare cases where a bunch of pretty darn good football players find themselves at the same small school at the same time and grow into something special on defense. I do not believe that Pitt will be able to both stack the box [with a wizard like Matakevich coming behind] AND double team Will at the same time. Not effectively anyway. We should be back to a 500 yard monster and CJ running free --- therefore c.40 points.

But Pitt, blast them, is Pitt. ... a total pain in the butt.

We come out slow, but by halftime are firmly in control. Big third quarter and get up by 17 - 21, then go conservative in the 4th and Pitt whittles the lead down to 7 but the outcome is never in doubt.

Another solid resume building road win before next week's tune up. Onward and upward.

You are such a fucking idiot ACAMP. The last time you did this "positivity" shit was right before Clemson. Six fumbles and a heartbreaking loss later, you bust this out before Pitt?!? WHAT!?!?!

This is straight bannable level offense right here.

I've done it like every week since UMASS... but thanks for believing I'm a wizard and somehow influence the game in any way shape or form...

Pitt always seems to find a way to give ND fits, but in the end, we will outgun them. 31-21 ND.

I don't think it will be pretty for ND's offense but I also really don't think much of Pitt's offense. I think they'll hit on some big plays early but we should be able to shut them down for a majority of the game. I think our offense will be similar to last week in that we'll have a tough go of it running the ball early but things loosen up as the game goes on. I see it as 27-17, ND wins and keeps the CFP hope alive!.

Here's how it's going to go.

Another road game where the opponent plays their ass off because it's ND. We still win, but it won't be pretty or by as much as many would like. Post game analysis on IE will question red zone play calling, why Day is dropping into coverage, why ND can't put anyone away, why BVG can't make adjustments until halftime and of course, the obligatory calling for Schmidt to ride the pine. Then Sunday we move up a spot or two in the polls and we post all of the scenarios which will keep us out of the playoffs.

If we're talking bannable offenses, I would like to suggest a two-week ban for anyone who still spells our Heisman candidate RB's name CJ "Procise." It's Prosise people, he's been on the team four f*cking years.

It's not negative to think this team won'tcurb stomp PITT. What the hell have they shown that makes one even consider that they would???

This will be closer than we'd all like because ND does not impose their will.

Against alot of these "weaker" programs we scratch and claw against better coaching and pull out wins because we are athletically superior.

That's not too say Kelly and co don't make great adjustments.. They do.

One thing I do need to see, when they run their deep bomb trick play,... and they WILL run a deep bomb trick play, obviously,... I need to see the safeties not leave the lone deep man open by fifteen yards... you can only get embarrassed by the same gimmick so many games in a row, and our defense crossed that line a few games back... enough.
