My main thought:

Early starts kick ass!!! Look at us, now we can chill watch other games, enjoy our weekend and RELAX!! This is what having nice things is. You masochistic loons who want to sit around all Saturday wasting half your weekend in an anxiety driving stupor or mad.... #MakeNDFandomGreatAgain

Been watching the Bama game. They are ridiculous.

How do you think Wake compares to Vanderbilt? Could this have been done to our last 2 opponents if this game plan had been put in place?

It’s interesting when the execution is right there’s no comments on the play calling.

The early kick off is 5pm here so suits me perfectly. Shame there’ll only be one this year and I’ll have to stay up till 4 in the morning for the evening games.

Yes to your second question. I think Ball State & Vandy will both be lucky to finish .500.

This is random, but what kind of power would it take for us to facilitate the process of shutting down NDNation? They suck.... but I also get the sense that they are old money, deep pockets, arrogant assholes.

Great performance today. Good call by Kelly. Book was a baller. It was fun.

Time to get ready for Stanford.

26 players made tackles according to the box score. That should keep lots of people happy.

Your execution comments applies to all the games and the play calling. Yes, if we had executed better in the first 3 games we would have done better. In the game day thread there was a lament about play calling with the fumble because it was a jet sweep toward the boundary. The play call wasn't the problem, the tackler got his helmet on the ball causing a fumble. That can happen on an inside run or an option play.

Book's arm is much more accurate with the short passes that Wimbush struggles with. Probably more importantly Book makes his decision's quicker, be it progressions or to roll out of the pocket. Receiver's got hit more times when they were open rather than trying to force a ball into coverage when the window had closed or was closing. I believe Book's decisions also impacted the OLine positively. I didn't put a stopwatch on the plays but Book generally seemed to get rid of the ball sooner be it pass or run than Wimbush does so the OLs don't have to hold blocks as long.

Time to eat some crow. i thought the QB switch was a bad idea. And I agree with the announcers that going to Phil instead of BW was a good move and would have been a slap in the face to him today. But Book seems to fit the style of play that the staff wants to use much more than BW.

One other thing to mention is that the WF QB was tough as nails. I don't recall seeing a QB take that many shots and keep on getting up. That kid is going to be sore for a week.

This defense is the real deal. They are very physical. They give up a play or two here and there but for the most part today WF was in 3rd and long.

More of the playbook opens up with Book in.

I don't have it, what's on?

Edit: Never mind, I see it's the OD VA Tech game. It's still early, but this is why I didn't necessarily think the Hokies were good yet. Tbh I wasn't sure if they're beating Duke next week.

Just imagine tomorrow!

We haven't had a full winning football weekend since October 10th/11th of 2015!

I really think BW needs to convert to part time RB.
Book has stronger arm and much better wheels than Rees. Not even close.
Wimbush has really had plenty of chances. Dayne Crist wishes he had as many chances as BW has but BW has had several nice to really good games. USC, NC St and Wake Forest last year.
I think the problem with Wimbush has less to do with accuracy and more to do with poor decision making on the RPOs and flat out missing an open receiver while missing others wide open. I’m sure if we had access to game film like the coaches this would become even more glaringly clear. Hope Wake is a little better than we made them look today.

Virginia Tech 28
Old Dominion 28

Virginia Tech punting with 11 minutes left.
Edited my post. Don't forget that BK is probably pissed about the end of the 2016 game too. 2 weeks from now could be a complete slaughter.

Appreciate the heads up but be mindful that NDShark comes here to discuss the game at hand. There are enough asswipes in the world already.

I’m optimistic in nature. But Wake Forest. They gave up 41 to a BC team that couldn’t score against 0-3 Purdue. Think we were gonna score a lot regardless of QB. That’s not to take away from Book because he was awesome today and it was so nice utilizing the tight end again. Imma wait one more week before truly forming an opinion on Book.

Need to get Young a couple screens a game. He’s electric in space.

Hartman got so abused and looked shellshocked. Our front 7 (and defense as a whole) abused Wake.

Was very happy I was able to watch the first 3 quarters here in Playa del Carmen before going to the Beach club..

I tend to agree. Wake might be the worst defense we’ve played (more talent than BSU, but BSU had a good scheme). Not to take anything away from Book. He was great today. And our running game continued to improve. But I tend to think Stanford and Va Tech will be tougher to move the ball on. I still think we’ll need both our QBs to succeed on offense.

Hard to score points on Tech? We worse than ODU?

This team could be a lot of fun. We dont know exactly what that means but this is a real offense with Book.

I guess we'll see how Book does against the better defenses we face, but I've been saying he's a better QB than Wimbush for over a year. I actually feel more optimistic about this year... watch it all crash and burn, next week.

I liked that Ruhland got his first start. Man, did he look lost on his early pulls, though.

I was against the move to Book but was dead ass wrong. Reminded me of what happened to the Browns Thursday. All the sudden the offense looked on rhythm and the ball was getting out quick. Next week will be the real test but at least now I think we have a realistic chance of scoring enough against Stanford to win.
