Silly Season 2015/2016 (Coaching Changes)

The drinking issue seemingly started around the time his marriage fell apart. Sark's going through a divorce. That with the pressure of being the USC head coach probably isn't a great setup for someone with addiction tendencies.

Tis a myth that hard times drive an alcoholic to drink. When ask, any alcoholic who truly hits bottom and can see the truth, admits that he drove himself. (Probably too often.)

The real issue here is whether all those in the corrupt programs that have enabled his disease to get this out of control, will be able to wrap the pile of bull shite they helped create with fancy paper and sell it as some sort of human interest story, or if the naked truth will be revealed.

How many assistants since Pete Carol have had problems with drugs or alcohol? And how many doctors wrote staff members, and players, whatever they wanted, in terms of prescriptions for controlled substances? Better living through chemistry?

Wow there must be a ton more stuff being dredged up. Do the honorable thing and give him his indefinite leave and now fired? Ouch.

Sark fired.

I know Haden's borderline untouchable at USC but he's gotta be getting awfully close to that border, no? Two disastrous football hires in a row and Enfield is coaching the basketball team into oblivion. If I were a USC alum I'd be calling for Haden's head.

He won't be fired, but the natives here in Columbia are definitely restless.

Last week's loss really got the fans fired up about the direction of USC and Spurrier.

If they win five games or less this year, which is very likely, there will be a lot of noise in Columbia.

You're right, "He won't be fired ..."

Pulled the plug himself ... or did someone make him an other he couldn't refuse?

I could see the end of the season but what does SC get with an Interim HC?

Three jobs now open halfway through the season.

Beats me. If that were the case I would give both Kingsbury and Harsin a serious look for young up and comers. Maybe Cutcliffe for a more experienced guy.

Whittingham and Cutcliffe won't leave their current jobs.

The QB Coach Mangus is expected to get the interim position. I am not sure how much input he had with the QBs with Spurrier there, but needless to say the QBs have always been problematic/inconsistent under Spurrier at USC.

Richt won't get fired. He's the master at saving his job. He does just enough every year to keep safe. Now that Florida is down their QB he might beat them and keep himself safe for another season.

He's safe because Georgia people love the guy. Yes they want to win a championship but they want to do it with Richt as HC.

I live in Georgia and not a UGA fan (obviously) but I have the utmost respect for Richt. The picture of him praying with a crying Nick Chubb on the sidelines after that gruesome injury speaks volumes for the man's character.

Richt is indeed a great guy. I actually wouldn't mind seeing him win a NC at some point. But in this crazy world called CFB, it will be interesting to see how long he can stay around if he doesn't win one.

Golden never had a chance.

Who do you think replaces him?

Totally agree...not much to work with there from a facilities or fan-base standpoint. And their stadium is 50 Minutes from their campus...crazy.

The Memphis HC will be at the top of the list for many big schools that will be looking for a coach this off season

Lol... Would any of those even consider Miami at this point?? Honestly, watch them take a long look at Diaco...

I'd also love to hear the breakdown of the mr hurricane guy who went nuts on us before the 2012 game,...

If those UT's are for Texas and Tennessee I would like to know what brought you to the conclusion that they will be coachless soon? I don't see Stone or Davis coaching anywhere else and they are not getting fired.

And Purdue. Hazell is done.

I'm not sure if he's going anywhere just yet. AD Burk has kept his recruiting budget so tight coaches have been paying for some things out of their own pockets. While Ross-Ade got a face lift a few years ago, the practice facilities and weight rooms have needed a renovation. President Daniels just announced plans for a new indoor facility and weight training facilities which should help.
