Paper Boy was the hardest freaking game ever.

So many other great memories in here.

Socom 2 US Navy Seals for PS2. Probably the best online multiplayer shooter of all time in it's prime. The community was just as awesome as the game, and I was a beast with the m16 and AK-105

I'm actually quite the video game music fanatic, I find the ambient and non-intrusive nature of most of the songs lends well to studying/doing work. Not to derail the thread but here's some of my favorites:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Bn2XD42R5DE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/xhJTMeytTWw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Jeremy Soule is one of the best in the business. All of his elder scroll stuff is amazing. These are my favorites from Skyrim. He's honestly made too much beautiful music to share. *EDIT* messed up the second video. Fixed.

Pretty much anything from the Metroid series is fantastic. One of the best from the series though.

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Hy0aEj85ifY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/7P2HNic7JjI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/SXGGvsHq6iA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Too many good Zelda songs...

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/oAg4yjEmerU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Epic Portal techno. If you haven't played the original Portal and like video games, you really have no excuse. It's one of the best games ever made, its super cheap, and it's on every system known to man (even really bad computers can run it easily).

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ZWB8P4jbsAA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

One of my favorites. If you've ever played Shadow of the Colossus you know why. No music ever made me feel like more of a badass while I was simultaneously sh*tting my pants. *EDIT: Just found out that Shadow of the Colossus is free for Playstation Plus members. Get on it if you've never played it!

I could do a lot more of these, but I'll stop there.

And let us all not forget Resident Evil

Which might be, the greatest video game franchise of all time

RE2 is one of the greatest games of all time

The OG Resident Evil. When the dogs jumped through the window made me pee a little.

Grey- Always was "iffy" about Shadows of Colossus"

You've sold me

Expect a very different experience than a normal video game. If you don't like it at first give it some time, because there is a cultural gap. It'll eventually click. (I came around when I had to dodge a sword the size of a skyscraper.) No game will ever make you feel so small. You are an ant to some of the things that you are trying to bring down. Definitely one of the experiences that cemented the fact that games are art in my mind.

Back when the RE franchise was in it's infancy it was absolutely fantastic. But they lost me when you had to drag the other character around the whole game. Damn, I was pissed at that game. Cant remember which game that was but I dont want to be responsible for others in video games.

Spray gun was my favorite. Even with the unlimited life cheat, still was so difficult.

Paper Boy was the hardest freaking game ever.

Not afraid to admit the furthest I ever made it was level 2; I believe that's the tornado level. I also sucked at delivering the paper.

Video games are great still but they dont make them like they used to. They seemed a lot more fun back in the day. I personally believe GoldenEye is the greatest game of all-time.

Do you work for Brainasium?

J/k. I agree totally. I wish I had more time to keep up with the new stuff.

I've had every Battlefield game except BF4 which just came out. For some reason this was the one I excelled at online. I had hundreds of round wins and put in over 500hrs online. In contrast, I probably played 80hrs of Bf3 online, and not even one time was I top man in a round. No time and old man reflexes.

Joe Montana Talk Football 94... Sweep to the far side then once you get past middle of the screen Id press pause, wait a second, hit start, then run the other way... TD every time!! Boomer esiason would have 400 Yds passing while Johnny Anderson would have 200Yds rushing

I remember having a Coleco Vision as a kid. When we first got it, I went to bed that night, woke up for school the next day, and my dad (who was vehemently against video games and other frivolous things) was surrounded by empty beer cans and at the tail end of an 8 hour Q-Bert session.

Great thread, Super Mario Brothers 2 on Nintendo. Beat it in 22 minutes. I also may be the only person to ever play the game!

I liked Super Mario 2. I thought it was very imaginative, a cool departure from the first. I wasn't impressed by SMB 3 because it was just a rehash of the first.
