Mike Frank at ISD brought up a nightmare scenario: Urban going to SC once they fire Helton.

This isn't gonna happen is it?

IMO, I don't see it happening. It seems as though California is cooling off in regards to support (donations) for football. You can get away with certain behaviors/ slip ups at football obsessive schools in the midwest/south.
In cali, if UM slips up and calls someone by the wrong gender identifying pronoun there will be riots in the streets. Who wants to put up with that crap, I think he stays away.
Now is U$C brings in a new coach while the athletic department gets is act together and becomes stable again. I could see him come in that scenario, as long as the conditions are right.

https://247sports.com/Article/Zach-Smith-says-Urban-Meyer-will-coach-at-USC-132986214

Fired from Ohio State in July 2018 after a domestic abuse scandal involving his ex-wife, Courtney, Smith has defended his alleged actions since to an exhausting extent and now speaks freely about college football and behind the curtain in Columbus on his new podcast titled, "Menace2Society."

That's the platform he used this week to share what he's heard about Meyer's potential return to the sidelines.

"How about this — I’m from Dublin, Ohio and know hundreds of people, like everyone would who grew up somewhere. Coincidentally, that’s where Urban lives," Smith said at the 12-minute mark of Episode 6. "I probably know someone who either cuts your grass, works with the guy who cuts your grass or I know someone that is around you.

"Someone that I know that works in the United States Postal Service dropped a bomb on me last week. He tells me that Urban Meyer’s house has had certified mail sent to and from the University of Southern California. I’m talking several letters. I don’t know that he has communicated with them, and it’s a decent source, I would put $1000 that he would be the head coach at USC in the near future."

Not the most trustworthy source in the world, but I think we've heard rumblings of this elsewhere too. I think he'd absolutely kill it there unfortunately. Pete Carroll 2.0.

I think there’s a 0.1% chance Urban retired permanently. He’s 54. I know he’s got health issues but he’s a multimillionaire and he can get some help for those issues. I think he’s got 15-20 years left of coaching energy left and while I don’t think he’s coaching for the entire 20 years, I think he’s coaching at USC next season or even sooner when they fire Helton. The best thing for ND would be to spank USC and they win every other game this season cause Urban Meyer would destroy teams with USC recruiting.

I'm still leaning towards Urban being done with coaching. USC could certainly throw a lot of cash his way to change his mind...and unfortunately it would be a great setup for him. The PAC-12 is weak. Stanford seems to have lost a step, Oregon isn't there anymore, Washington is in a resurgence but they're beatable. Who else is left? UCLA is still a project, and while Leach is a phenomenal coach they don't have the horses to really compete with a USC. Urban would probably have his pick of any recruits west of Texas in that scenario.

That said, I really hope Urban is done though. When you see the way he left his last two programs, and the fact former Florida players under him continue to get in trouble with the law and damage his legacy, I think it's best if he remains retired. You'd have to question his morals to come back to coaching, especially this soon, should he go to USC.

USC’s problems aren’t just with Helton and football. Their issues are spread throughout the athletic program. As long as Swann is the AD, it won’t matter who the coach is.

I think it all depends on if Shelley and the family are really wearing the pants and driving his decision-making like they all make it seem.

If Shelley wants to move to Cali, Urban will be coaching the Trojans.

If she says "nope," then Urban will have to ride it out at home for another two years and see which job is available at that point lol.

USC is under a lot of scrutiny right now on the athletic and academia side. I have to believe the new president will tread somewhat lightly. If Swann proposes Meyer he may not pass the interview given his history.

BTW.........We had several on here predict Meyer would end up at USC as soon as he was gone at OSU. Smith is running late. lol

Urban Meyer is coaching again. I don’t think he gives a rip about his morals. If he cared maybe he wouldn’t have had the Zach Smith stuff, the tons of arrests at UF, and the straight lying for years on end. The bottom line is Urban Meyer is good at 3 things. Being a college football coach, recruiting, and lying. What’s he gonna become a used car salesman? He’s 54. No chance he spends the next 40 years as a studio analyst, assistant AD, and motivational speaker. The guys seen what the top is like and he’s addicted to it. No chance he’s done coaching. No chance. Rick Pitino still coaches, Jim Calhoun coaches in D3 basketball, Jim Boeheim halted his retirement plan. Some guys just don’t have eyes for retirement and I think Urban is that kind of guy. I’d give him 3 years tops and he’ll be back in coaching. Book it

Agree with everything but the 3 years. He justifies these issues in his own mind and probably sees others as responsible. I think it will be sooner.

Longtime USC gynecologist George Tyndall charged in sex assaults of 16 women: 'It was time to seek justice

The former longtime gynecologist at the University of Southern California was charged Wednesday with sexually assaulting 16 women at the student health center, the first criminal counts in a case that already has seen USC offer to pay $215 million to settle potentially thousands of claims.

Dr. George Tyndall, 72, worked at USC for nearly three decades, and news of his arrest on 29 felony charges that could send him to prison for 53 years was welcomed by women who accuse him of misconduct and lawyers representing them.
In the past year, more than 380 women have reported misconduct by Tyndall, authorities said. Some of the cases fell outside the 10-year statute of limitations, while others did not rise to the level of criminal charges or lacked sufficient evidence to prosecute.

Tyndall is charged with 29 felonies, including 18 counts of sexual penetration and 11 counts of sexual battery by fraud. Victims were unaware of what was going on because he led them to believe it served a professional purpose, the criminal complaint states.

His bail has been set at $2.1 million; arraignment has not been scheduled.

More than 700 women have filed individual civil lawsuits against Tyndall and USC in state court. Separately, USC has agreed to a $215 million class-action settlement with former patients, which would create a fund to pay $2,500 to $250,000 to women who say Tyndall abused them.

As many as 17,000 students and alumnae are eligible, according to the university.

While USC talking heads may be practiced in name pronunciations of their Polynesian players on defense, it would behoove ours to begin practicing on a few names.

USC's starting defensive tackles are Jay Tufele and Marlon Tuipulotu with Brandon Pili as backup. (Pili is from Alaska)

Their LBs include Palale Gaoteote (starter) with Jordan Iosefa, Solomon Tuliaupupu, Maninoa Tufona, Stanley Taufoou, Juliano Falaniko, Kena'i Mauga, and Tuasivi Nomura as backups. (Should John Houston get injured, the inside of the their front seven will be comprised of Tufele, Tuipulotu, Gaoteote and Iosefa.

USC's starting Ss are Isaiah Pola-Mao and Talanoa Hufango with Kaulana Makaula as a backup.

Tufele, Tuipulotu, Tuliaupupu, Tufona, Taufoou, Gaoteote, Iosefa, Falaniko, Mauga, Nomura, Pola-Mao, Hufango and Makaula were all four or five star recruits.

Can we ask George Bush to be guest commentator?

They really do have a ton of polynesian players. I love the way they play. It's unfortunate I have to watch so many of them play with USC lids on their heads.
