Which NFL team is hiring an OC right now though?

It's a tricky situation for him- balancing perhaps the best college gig he can get right now versus getting perhaps one of a handful of NFL jobs...in 6 weeks.

Browns. Though I’m not sure Baker would be the biggest Kingsbury fan.

The Jaguars just fired theirs.

But really, any team who takes a quarterback with a top pick is going to sit and think about changing up staff to suit that guy's needs.

Pretty sure he hates Kingsbury and has been public about it. Wondering if the prima donna JT Daniels would ever feel the same way??????? One can hope.

I don't know where it's coming from, but the Cowboys are somehow (maybe?) involved

I can't say I know many specifics/differences about Kingsbury's scheme versus other air raid schemes but how would Dallas be a good fit, at all. Prescott and a run first offense would seem like a disaster waiting to happen. Please don't do it Jerry.

Both of you can't be right
Me either but I do think the Elko/Lea background scheme is uniquely qualified to deal with this. In essence that is kind of the point of a 4-2-5. I also think we're recruiting at a clip that should be good enough to match up with their talent on offense. We're going to have some nice talents at LB and S.
We are all so fucked.

I guess to clarify, I know teams NFL will be looking for OC's, but I'm not sure how Kliff waits that out, apparently with sc willing to give him a job now. I doubt they'll wait ~6 weeks for an answer.

And I'm not sure how a GM hires an OC now, particularly if they don't have a new head coach yet or even fired a head coach yet.

I think Dallas giving up a 1st rounder for Cooper was an indicator that they know they need to shake things up and get away from the offense they have been running. Jason Witten talked about this several times during the Cowboys-Titans game. Cooper was the 1st step in that process.

You're right though, I'm not sure KK is the specific answer, but Jerra seems to be at least looking in that sort of direction.

Well, they needed to bring in a WR that can make plays on the outside. That's a given. Step 2 has been getting Zeke involved in the pass game. So we do agree that something needed to change, and is.

I just don't think that is indicative of wanting to become an Air Raid Offense. One seems like a natural progression to open things up, something most thought they'd do with the draft (getting a WR). The other is completely abandoning the offensive philosophy. You can be a run first team while still being creative with the pass game, misdirection, play action, etc.

I really like KK, I think he is good just was too young for a HC job. I hope he goes to Dallas, I want USC to be a .500 ball club for at least 10 more years.

Now that would be a decent fit. Probably a better fit pre-Golden Tate trade. Golladay, Jones, Tate, and Riddick. With Stafford gun slinging. I'm sure that's how Stafford would love to go out.

I actually agree with that. Watch Jim Bob get fired after this week. They may as well.

They already aren't a running team.

Really? What specific games and/or matchups are you speaking of?

I don't have stats in front of me, but he was just so noticeable in first half of the season and not so much since then. I know he's been playing a lot of snaps, but so do a lot of the guys that play in the front 7.

After doing a quick google search, Jerry's 4th quarter sack against USC was his first sack since the Stanford game. I know that you can't judge a d-lineman just by sacks, but he had 7 sacks in the month of September and only 1 sack in October-November. Thats a little head scratching to me.

There could be a few reasons why his numbers took a huge dip: double teams, injury, tired, etc.. But we need September Tillery if this team wants to make some noise in the playoffs.

KK going anywhere doesn't automatically mean an air raid offense will be installed, especially in the NFL. All coaches have their preferences, but most can implement and/or run multiple offenses. Given USC's history, I could see them implementing something closer to ND's offense instead of the air raid under KK.

Looks like Helton is using the BK "better get this crap straightened out real fast" program.

Better known as the HC "mulligan" to fire your assistants and pray that things turn around. After that, you're SOL.

Wow. JT had a full mutiny on his hands. Sounds like a lot of WR's preferred Jack Sears... I know I did.

https://insideusc.blog/2018/12/12/kliff-kingsbury-will-face-a-real-dilemma-at-usc/

The fact this is getting outside the program is a bigger concern to me than the internal desire for a change at QB.

I'm sure their were ND WRs hoping a change from BW, but I don't remembering hearing a peep. Can you imagine BKs reaction to a player whining to someone at 247 or Rivals...

This is just one more confirmation that most Cali WRs are a bunch of whiny me-first prima donnas. KK might need to make an example of someone...

Unlikely as KK will be wing-manning with these guys for the SC co-eds.
