It's Kenda. And do you recognize the guy that plays Kenda as a young lieutenant? Real live PI former detective that blew the whistle on the Soccer Mom PI ring!

This is something I expect to happen at ND, not anywhere else.

I feel sad that I'm being mostly serious.

You expect our players, a captain nonetheless, to conduct themselves in a manner that is similar to breaking in to an apt and covering it up with a heroic story which the player believed no one would check into?

Precisely.

The specific situation, no, just the fact that I expect extremely odd stories with potentially negative ramifications to happen at ND.

(As to your point about a captain conducting themselves in questionable manner: Nevermind that we have a potential captain being investigated for academic misconduct, or that we had a starting quarterback get himself maced by cops for running from a party. The only thing they're missing is a cover up.)

The cover up is a pretty big element ... Running from cops during an underage drinking party or cheating on a paper is a little different than breaking into a house.

While I agree about the odd stories, I think odd stories occur across the nation

Didn't recognize him, but love the show and the real Kenda. Pulls no punches, tells you what he was thinking. Put him on this USC case and he'll have it solved

I feel like we've definitely under-hated USC around here lately. I get that we hate Michigan but let's spread it around.

I'm feeling great actually haha, just trying to make a point about "captain-like conduct."

And the initial point was simply supposed to be a lighthearted jest about the odd things that happen to ND football.

Oh, I still have a healthy amount of hate for FUSC, but it's dwindled over the last few years since BK came on board and has gone 3-1 against the Condoms. You should have seen me before 2010...

Michigan just deserves some extra hate this year because, well, this is the last year for the foreseeable future that we'll get to really hate on them. Plus, they've had BK's number more times than not.

Has this article been shared yet?

TrojanSports.com has confirmed that USC senior cornerback Josh Shaw has been named in a Los Angeles Police Department report. The report details a break-in on Saturday night in which a suspect was witnessed jumping out a three-story balcony . . .

. . . Witnesses described the suspect: "They saw a black male with dreadlocks leave the apartment from the balcony," Preciado said the police report reads.

Every local radio station (Pro USC) was discussing this from the angle of: "USC is handling this so much better than Notre Dame would..." seriously... that's like, all they got.

"We are so much better at handling the alleged transgressions of our high-profile student-athletes. Let us pat ourselves on the back."

That obviously couldn't be Shaw. He said he only jumped out of a two story building.

"The person that lives in that apartment returned and talked about her roommates and her boyfriend, who she identified as Josh Shaw," an LAPD spokeswoman told the site. "The victim's boyfriend had a similar description to the suspect seen leaving the apartment -- male, black, with dreadlocks. She said, 'That's my boyfriend.'

"The investigation is still ongoing," the LAPD added. "At this point there is no named suspect on the report. Josh Shaw is only named as the boyfriend of the resident."

How does one jump out of a 3rd floor window and not get seriously injured?

1. Be in great physical shape.
2. I mean, he did really sprain his ankles.

That was kind of my thought. I mean, when I was 17 I used to jump from my gf's 2nd story window all the time when her father would wake up early in the morning. I never sustained any injuries, although I had soft grass to land on. I imagine if you do it right jumping from a 3rd story window isn't a whole lot worse. The trick is to hang from the window ledge before you let go, that way you don't have to fall quite as far. When you hit the ground you have to try and roll.

Josh Shaw Admits to USC Officials That He Lied - USC Trojans

Here is the official statement from the USC Athletic Department on Josh Shaw:

USC senior cornerback Josh Shaw came to USC athletic department officials this afternoon (Wednesday, Aug. 27) and admitted that he had lied about how he suffered his ankle injuries over the weekend.

He said that the story he told of rescuing his nephew in a pool in Palmdale, Calif., was a complete fabrication. He apologized for misleading his coaches, teammates, athletic department officials and the public.

"We are extremely disappointed in Josh," said USC head football coach Steve Sarkisian. "He let us all down. As I have said, nothing in his background led us to doubt him when he told us of his injuries, nor did anything after our initial vetting of his story.

"I appreciate that Josh has now admitted that he lied and has apologized. Although this type of behavior is out of character for Josh, it is unacceptable. Honesty and integrity must be at the center of our program. I believe Josh will learn from this. I hope that he will not be defined by this incident, and that the Trojan Family will accept his apology and support him."

Sarkisian said that Shaw has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities.

Shaw has retained Donald Etra as legal counsel. Etra will issue a statement on Shaw's behalf soon.

USC regrets the posting of the initial story on Monday (Aug. 25).
