We are 4-0 which is obviously a good place to be, however, after watching Duke easily beat Ga Tech we really do not have a win over a quality opponent yet. Now if we we win convincingly this weekend I will be convinced that we can challenge for a playoff spot.

I was at the game and will share my thoughts.
1. The refs were god awful. On the play where we had UMass backed up near their end zone on 3rd down, their o-line guy was clearly holding right in front of the ref wearing (R) the ref had to see it and chose not to call anything.
2. Offense. The team played great but Kizer looked awful on a few easy throws. Throws that Wimbush came in and mad easily. I know it is only umass but you can tell Wimbush is the real deal I truly believe with the weapons we have he is good enough to help us won now and needs to be mixed into the game more. Carile played a hell of a game. Kelly needs to get sanders more involved in the offense. Give him a few hand offs or screen plays a game. Tori hunter jr. Needs to play more. We only throw to him 1-2 times a game and he has caught everything. Since st. Browns redshirt is already burned this kid needs to be playing and a lot. He is special and can help us cause mis matches as well.
3. Justin Brent and Corey Holmes? Does anyone know what the deal is? Are they redshirting? They can't be that bad where they aren't playing at all. I think brent could help us win now.
4. Where are all these exotic blitz packed That BVG was known to have? The lack of a pass rush is concerning.
5. The DB's looked awful at times again yesterday and one interception in 4 games is a concern. I think part of the problem is guys have thei backs turned to the ball and aren't playing the ball at all. If they played the ball they could of had another 2 int yesterday.

In regards to #4, Our D was in their backfield regularly. Their QB, Farfegnugen (or whatever), just got rid of it super quick. Flutie kept verbally orally copulating him for it during the broadcast.

I think your Fahrvergnügen will be an NFL quarterback, and is the best we have played against this season. I really wonder if we will play against anyone much better. Yes we will play against some that are almost as good and have much better supporting casts. But I think this experiment was a success. I for one was pleased with the results. The number of hurries were ridiculous!

And whomever was at the game, and mentioned above about the referees was not kidding. Watch a game replay. It wasn't just Fahrvergnügen's fast release that kept the sacks down, it was as well the considerable holding by their offensive line!

Team did what they had to do.
Good to get back ups in with substantial time.
Like Newsome on punts and kick offs. Still hoping Yoon becomes more automatic.
Disappointed in D...gave up way too much to inferior talent.
Offense did what they should have done.
I'll take 4-0 going to Death Valley.
Didn't hear about any injuries????

Will Fuller is just a monster. So is CJ. Glad Brown got the TD catch, we need him to get going because we need a #2 on this team.

Wish Hunter would play more, but Amir had a good game. He's not the best runner but he does run hard and doesn't shy away from contact.

Kizer has to step it up if we're going to get through USC unbeaten. He's standing in the pocket too long IMO, and is missing easy throws.

Good to see Alize get going. Defense played really well in 2nd half. I was surprised Redfield went in - why not rest him? I guess I was hoping that he was demoted due to injury, but I guess that's not the case if we're going to use him in garbage time.

Good to see the freshmen backs get going. We need to sprinkle them in more throughout the game because we need them to play serious minutes in case something happens to CJ. Also, we simply need to not ride the CJ horse into the ground - I want him to stay fresh. This is his first year taking this many shots and I don't want him to wear out.

So glad we had no injuries - so scared when Stanley went down. Sheldon Day is having himself a year, and has stepped up as a leader.

Farley seemed to be in the right spot in the right time. No blown assignments.

That fake play, holy cow we completely whiffed on that.

92 is Blankership, right? Cause 92 played in the game. Thought we were redshirting him?

Still no Jay Hayes?

Thought Onowala had a good game. Which is good to see because he's so forgotten about because he's not standing out in a good way or a bad way.

Our CBs need to take a lap. Very unimpressed with KVR. I get the rust, but this guy was really good 2 years ago and was supposedly in phenomenal shape. We'll see what they're made of in the next 3 weeks.

Kelly said on Thursday that he was benching him because he was acting like a little girl on social media this week

Just sitting down to watch the game.

The INT that was thrown to Fuller, the underneath WR was wide open. Kizer seems to do everything great, except throw from in the pocket.

The first PI call, wasn't PI. The second, was obvious.

The refs are pathetic. They miss the hold on the miss called TD. With a ref within feet. And how the hell did he call that initially a TD when he was literally right next to the play and it was 2 yards short.

The punt return, great vision and patience by a freshman. Someone who is simply a 'speedster' wouldn't have made it.

Jaylon not only looks fast, he looks to be making every play right.

Did Flutie graduate from UMASS?

UMASS holds soooooo much with no calls.

Kizer spike>>>>>>>>>>>Golson spike

So what cause them to change their mind on burning Blankership's RS?

I think he got some playing time so he wouldn't be rusty next week.

Halfway thru the 3rd on my viewing. We seem to be catching it really well. Did we have any drops?

Wimbush has a HUGE are. And Fuller can catch with his hands. Kinda

I liked that Wimbush went rogue on that play where it was a run but he instead decided to sling it 50 yards for the TD that got called back for the ineligible man downfield. I know that wasn't smart but it was just fun to see.

I have Wimbush fever right now. I want to see more of him. small sample size, but I don't see Kizer holding him off past this year. He made some throws that Kizer isn't making now.

For him I sure hope so, but I give it zero chance. Not even remotely realistic at this point.

Who goes higher? I think he leaves after this year since RBs have such short careers plus TF will steal carries next season....Fourntette/Chubb are miles better but not draft-eligible.

I'd take Ezekiel Elliot over CJ.

Onwualu. I know it's not the easiest name to spell, but I'm beginning to think that you are just completely disregarding all attempts at getting it right lol.

I'm a pretty poor speller of all words, so names are even worse for me. I'm not doing it on purpose. I'll do my best to make sure you guys know who I'm talking about, but I'm not going to google every player's name that I mention.

Just go by jersey number, it will make things more entertaining.

Prosise will be the top RB taken in the draft.

Ehhhhhhh... I really doubt that. Ezekiel Elliot will be taken ahead of him, for sure. And I'd assume Derrick Henry and Devontae Booker. The highest I'd really peg CJ is that 4-10 range for RB, which should probably put him in the 3rd/4th round. He's got a lot of flaws in his game, and I'm not sure quite how fast he'll test at the combine.

Is he eligible for a 5th year?

Not to discount what CJ is doing, but this year is really showing that the entire o-line should eventually be drafted in the top 3 rounds. Not only is CJ dominating, but Adams and Williams are getting great YPC. Folston would have done the same (if not better).

ND truly has one of the top 2-3 o-line units in the country.

Sorry if it has already been stated, but UMASS attacked Joe Schmidt in the first half and he struggled. On the long run, he and or Day lost their gap. But other times Schmidt got a FB right in the face and had a difficult time. He may be the best answer at this point, but that first half wasn't his best.

JO had his best game of the year IMO

Max was laying the wood, decisively, in the second half. But that aggression was obviously taken advantage of on the trick play. Hope he pulls it all together and fast. USC will torch the secondary if he doesn't play well. Would really like to have Avery back for USC.

NW has some great blocks at TE this game. Was really impressed with his play.

Dexter looks like once he gets it all together, he will be one fine RB.

Would really like to see Sanders on kick return and get the ball in Hunter's hands more on offense.

James O looked the best I seen him.

As far as Max, he got burned. But to be fair so did everyone on that play. He recovered faster than the CBs did on that side.

Dude, we watched him outrun SEC defenders... SEC !!! Can't do that without elite speed. Mark my words, he'll run the combine's first sub-4.1 and probably be the next CJ2K. He's got the speed to be CJ4K. He could run for 250+ a game behind Indy's line I bet.

Others kind of touched on this already but I think he'll go behind at least Elliot, Henry, Clement, and Booker if they all go.
