How much BCS money can Notre Dame expect to cash in on if its team continues to perform? Relying upon BCS figures from 2011-12, if Notre Dame plays in a BCS bowl game (i.e., the Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl and BCS National Championship Game), the school will receive $6.1 million. If Notre Dame does not play in a BCS bowl game, like it did last year when it participated in the Champs Sports Bowl, it will receive 1/66th of the net BCS revenue. Based on 2011-12 numbers, that would amount to $1.8 million. Thus, Notre Dame’s continued success and subsequent invitation to a BCS bowl game could mean the difference of $4.3 million to Notre Dame.
