I can't stand Trump. Didn't vote for him in 16 or this time. But I don't really understand the people who are having panic attacks over the thought of him getting re-elected. Can someone help me out here with some rational discussion, please?

Because people are brainwashed by mass media into thinking that Trump is the devil incarnate.

This is the short version.

I'm not here to defend him. But I'd genuinely like to hear someone make a list of why he's been so horrible that another 4 years will lead to the first American dictatorship. A good friend of mine is from China. He's constantly talking about how Trump is taking moves straight out of the CCP handbook. I'm like dude, have you taken the time to look at how any establishment politician operates in this country? These people are all the same. Why on earth are you voting for MORE government involvement if your fear is America becoming like China? Makes no sense. It's all Dem - good, Republican - bad...no matter what.

Look, I know Trump has been awful in some areas. The things that fly out of his mouth, especially during a global pandemic, are asinine. But would a Dem president have done so much better by the numbers? I doubt it. A smooth-talking, "Presidential," Obama with a media in his pocket might've had a better perception to the public, but would the numbers have been better? I'm not willing to make a bet on that.

Again, can't stand him/didn't vote for him, but I'm genuinely interested to hear what has been "SO BAD" that four more years will cause "irreversible damage" to this country.

I mean,....

I guess I get it tho. I’m terrified of what the Dems will do if they get full control again,... they did enough damage last time. In a perfect world Biden wins (so the left can calm the fuck down already) but the republicans keep total control of Congress,... it’s not going to happen but yeah,... if anything I dislike Trump even more because his over the top twat waffle persona brought us to this.

I wrote in Brian Carroll from the American Solidarity Party, btw. And I felt damn good doing it. I've been done with the duopoly for two general elections at this point.

I disagree with this. I think generations of participation trophies, pampering, and people being secured in bubble wrap have lead to a massive population base who just can't take the L. They would've treated Cruz, Bush, Kasich, etc with all the same hate and vitriol.

I agree that Trump sucks. His personality certainly doesn't help matters. But I don't think he's a cause of all this chaos.

Yeah, every Republican since Nixon has been ‘Literally Satan’ but all of them before Trump didn’t turn off a portion of their own base by being a jackass. I don’t think we are looking a compete dem gov in the face without Trump’s personality,... there are other factors obviously but yeah... just me.

Btw a major cause of a lot of this chaos is the very people who are gonna end up benefitting from it all,... make things as shitty as possible, block anylegislative attempts to help and then ask for a great big thank you when you finally allow reforms and stimulus bills to passed ONLY after you’ve been given full power. They’ve been holding us hostage,...

Political chess. Both parties do this. Don't give the other side the "win."

Of course, you're right, and the fact that people on the left can't see this blows my mind. Although, I have co-workers who have admitted to agreeing with the stimulus road block because they know the means justify the end. If a stimulus package passed, Trump would almost certainly be re-elected. Can't have that....even at the expense of the millions of people and small businesses suffering.

This country is soft AF. Softer than Charmin soft. God help us if we ever have to fight a ground -war / WW3, or experience a pandemic or other disaster that requires people to do more than rely on gov.

Trump is a dick, but he isn't the devil. He is however less dangerous to my positions and values than the other side.

I mean, the reality is that people want a dictatorship.

People are praising governors for effectively imposing martial law on their citizens. People on this very board have their minds completely blown at the idea of not wearing a mask because of freedom. People will literally allow their government to do anything in the name of safety, health, or what they view as “equality.”

America is dead. The idea of self responsibility and self actualization is dead.

Or as Rand put it -

“The word "We" is as lime poured over men, which sets and hardens to stone, and crushes all beneath it, and that which is white and that which is black are lost equally in the grey of it. It is the word by which the depraved steal the virtue of the good, by which the weak steal the might of the strong, by which the fools steal the wisdom of the sages.

What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

But I am done with this creed of corruption.

I am done with the monster of "We," the word of serfdom, of plunder, of misery, falsehood and shame.

And now I see the face of god, and I raise this god over the earth, this god whom men have sought since men came into being, this god who will grant them joy and peace and pride.

This god, this one word:

"I.”

Brah, Trump killed 220,000+ Americans with Covid!!!1 He should have personally put masks on each of those people and made them socially distance, they all died at no fault of their own!

It's funny, when asked at his Town Hall if Trump bears some responsibility for the virus deaths Biden had this to say:

LLester Holt: (19:16)
I heard you mention this idea of a national mandate.

Joe Biden: (19:19)
Yes.

Lester Holt: (19:19)
You’ve mentioned that before for masks, but what power does a President have to make that happen?

Joe Biden: (19:24)
He doesn’t, beyond the federal property. I would go out and I would talk. I would call all the Governors to the White House. Some probably wouldn’t come. And I’d call the governors and I’d say to the mayors as well as the county executives, “Take responsibility. Take responsibility and lay out the guidelines.” Look, folks, one of the problems is this President said, “I take no responsibility. Literally, it’s not my responsibility.” Well, if it’s not his responsibility … He talked about this being like a time of war. We are under attack, as I said earlier, 200,000, plus have died, 50,000 a day are getting the virus, 1000 a day thereabouts are dying. This is a national emergency. And so the President should take responsibility and the federal government has an obligation to lay out basic guidelines. And the science matters. Listen to the scientists.

So in one breath Biden says it's up to the Governors to be responsible and police their own states. They need to make the rules because the President can only mandate that the rules be followed on Federal property...then in the next breath he says Trump needs to take responsibility. Which is it, Joe? Sounds like he's giving himself an out if the virus continues to rage on if he becomes President.

Everything in that quote is accurate and still points out that both the President and the Governors have serious responsibility. Some of those expressions of responsibility are legal mandates, and others are using the Bully Pulpit VERY strongly to pressure and plead the country into shape. Everyone can decide whether this executive did all he could when he could.

My wife's grandmother died of Covid earlier this year. My wife stayed away and kept her distance via phone calls, but one of her sisters kept going over this spring and summer with no consideration for the risks. She and her kids may or may not have given her a bad cold which landed her in a nursing home for a bit, which is where she later picked up the Covid. Trump isn't responsible for that, the nursing home and possibly my sister-in-law are.

Politicians can mandate all kinds of things, but my wife has seen people during the lockdown push right into the assisted living center she works at even when they were prohibited from doing so. Those people did much more harm than good, and if any of their relatives got sick as a result it's on them, not some politicians in Washington.

It's still too early to call the election, but Trump has certainly proven many of the polls wrong again and appears ahead in all the uncalled states. Short of some unexpected results, Trump is likely to win reelection.

That is what worries me not that I am accusing anyone of cheating.

Who would have ever thought that Donald Trump would be the one to basically end the admittedly low-IQ and definitely Low Testosterone profession of polling.

He may not get to 270 and ultimately lose, but for two consecutive elections, these idiots have told us it was probably going to be landslides against him. Florida appears to have ended up fairly safe. Texas looks safe. Ohio looks like an ass kicking. The media will should do some soul searching because holy shit lmao.

With the Senate....holy shit LMAO this is not looking good for Dems.

McConnell, Graham, Ernst, Daines, Tillis (it looks like anyway), Purdue, etc. We lost Gardner to a dude who has admitted to take his mom to a Porno theater. That says more about Colorado than it does about Gardner, by any measure was a good senator to Colorado who will land on his feet.. Tommy Tuberville will represent the good people of Alabama and McSally lost as polling indicated would happen. I think Ducey screwed up by picking her. Should have picked someone else but that is hindsight.

Why doesn't he want the votes to count??
Is this still a Democracy?

Just to update...
Trump wants keep counting votes in Nevada, Michigan, etc
But wants to cease voting in Georgia?
This has been the game plan all along.
What an absolute loser thing to do.

What would the Founding Fathers do?!

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/11/04/tru...ot-count-demanding-access-to-tally-sites.html

We should know what the vote total is pretty much as soon as the polls close - counting who was voted for can take time from there but this moving target of tens of thousands of additional votes showing up just horribly undermines faith in the process even if it is all done above board.

Having witnessed voter fraud in Milwaukee during the 2000 election, I appreciate how much easier it is to cheat when you can lean so heavily on mail in. All those Illinois homeless folks bussed up don't even have to go to the polls anymore to collect their cigarettes. Dead folks so much easier to vote for from home than lying in person. Previous resident? Just send it in with yours. Rolls need to be scrubbed regularly and they are not - vote integrity is not voter suppression.

There's a vast difference between counting votes already cast and continuing voting after polls close or accepting ballots not cast or mailed in time. Interesting number of votes in some critical areas that "just got found" long after the voting was supposed to have ended.

I didn’t know where to post this, but tissues are on sale at WalMart this week.

Walmart is too expensive. I’m in line at at the welfare office waiting for Biden to get elected so I can get them for free on taxpayer dime.

For who? The conservatives who thought Trump was going to pull it out or for the Libs who thought they'd get a mandate from the American people lol
