With that neck of his he would be a great watch out for frat parties. He could spot the police from a far distance. He would be one of Carlo's people.

As things stand right now? I'd trade ours with Florida and Alabama. Both classes are sick and 'Bama's is sure to get even better. Probably not trade with Ohio State as things stand right now... and 110% definitely not Michigan. If we get EV? Might not trade our class with any class in the country.

If USC somehow pulls off a miracle flourish to end it all I'd be tempted to take theirs but I think we need a bigger class to fill out depth so even then probably not. And I also think the kind of kids they're recruiting might be headed for an epic meltdown putting all of those egos in the same locker room and having to tell a couple they're not the starter.

Bama or Florida given that we can oversign the same way for margin of error regarding recruits that never pan out

Trade our class

No thank you.

ND has a bunch of kids that want to be in South Bend not South Beach or Hollywood.

ND has a bunch of kids that ND Admissions believes will all be eligible every year for the next 4 years and graduate.

This trading concept is done in a vacuum ignoring ND Admissions, ND Academics, Culture/Parietals, dorms, weather, nightlife, etc.

Trading for any other class means getting an assortment of Anzalones, Lynchs, and Dinkelberrys who don't want to be in South Bend for a variety of reasons, as well as, quite a few who couldn't get admitted to ND for a variety of reasons.

You'd probably lose 20 - 50% of the players on any of those "trades".

Just curious, why Florida and Bama? Florida leaves much to be desired on the OL (The only one I would want is Brown) and Bama is lacking in the secondary. Both areas of need for us in '13. Of course like you said it depends how things play out from here on out, UF and Bammer are still in it with a lot of big names.

Oh and freaking Bama is full of head cases,no thanks.

I love our class, I don't think we add to it personally, but one more DL and I couldn't be happier.

Maybe not Florida because of what you mentioned on the OL which is arguably more important for us in this cycle than any other position. But I really like their talent on the defensive side of the ball.

Bama? Not much better on the OL either. So trade player per player it's hard to take their class either. But I think the players they finish with make them an obvious swap.

If I was Florida, I'd pick Florida's class. If I was Alabama, I'd pick Alabama's class. But no way in he!l I'd pick either over our class at Notre Dame. And it's not just because of all the [correct] things BGIF said earlier. Our class has been recruited with OUR way of football in mind. Brian Kelly Football. Our guys "fit" Brian Kelly football. Sure, because he's a genius he can mold anything into a winner, but he's getting his sort of guys. No other coach's complete set of recruits fits that, even though there are individuals that do.

But... let the fantasy fun continue with my apologies. I only felt the urge to post because the underlying murmur of this topic is that it would lead someone to think that our staff isn't as "good" as some of those others at getting who they want. I believe that the margin of recruiting competence and effort differences between our staff and others is completely unknowable, but that we are as good as any as far as the indications that we have to base any opinions upon. And, as BGIF said: I wouldn't trade our young men as people for anyone either [though I know that this is not the intent of the thread].

This class just got a whole lot tougher to trade, but I wanted to see what you guys thought now that everyone is placed with their schools. Only school I can imagine trading for would be Alabama.

I Don't think i would trade this class at all. Yes we needed some more depth but we still ended better then i thought. I didn't think Eddie was coming here. And we got 2 kickers to walk on. Plus Durham and that's just the last month. So many very good players in the class can't wait to see who wants to put everything on the field.

I wouldn't at all trade the class, but I think Alabama's, Ole Miss' and Ohio State's are better. Florida's is even.

I would consider trading this class for Bama's. None others. It perfectly addresses needs and also has multiple 5:s: players. In fact, we have the highest average :s: rating on Rivals of all teams not named USC.

There are two main reasons I would not trade this class.

1. They already seem to really like each other. The chemistry this group of guys seem to be developing is huge.

2. To a man they come off as high character guys. This definitely cannot be said for some of the other teams out there. There really wasn't any prima donna drama yesterday(Folston, but we created that, not him).

This class is gonna take this team to a place we haven't been for a long time. I can feel it. And it feels good.

Nope, wouldn't trade a thing. And top to bottom I think they are only behind Bama and even with OSU and Florida. Fantastic class. Two years from now when some of these sleepers take off and the whole country is going, "wow, where did he come from," this class will be even more impressive.

I definitely wouldn't agree with this. The top of the class looks very good with Tunsil, Treadwell, Nkemdiche and Conner, but NDs class also has star power at the very top with Smith and Vanderdoes in particular. However with Ole Miss' class, as you look further down the list of recruits Ole Miss has a bunch 3 and a couple of 2 star guys.

If one or two of those top guys don't work out or transfer for some reason then suddenly the class becomes very unimpressive. Wheras imo even if that happened with some of NDs commits there are other recruits who could pick up the slack.

I wouldn't trade the overall class with anyone else's. I would definitely love to have some of Bama's DLmen and UCLA had a great year. Quite a few guys from USC would be welcome, too. But I can't really see a single team that I would rather have their class than our's. I can't say that in the last year or 2 but I truly feel that way this year. But if I had to choose, like someone put a gun to my head, I would probably pick Bama's or UCLA. OSU had a great year, too.

I would trade it for a washing machine, even though we need ours.

I wouldn't trade any of our classes ever. There will always be better classes but they are kids that didn't want to come here so I have no use for them. Game, set, get that weak **** outta here!

I consider OSU and Florida's basically equal to ours and Bama's to be better. Bama is the only one I'd trade it for.

Agreed. Bama's class is insane. I'll be very happy when their reign of terror is over. I think our OLine haul is outrageous though, Bryant and Folston are going to love running through the holes the big guys make.

Would not trade based on what our needs were and what we received.

Kelly's best class by far.

Would not trade ours but if I had two it would be Bama UF or OSU. IMO Bama's is a slight upgrade in terms of talent while OSUs is a slight downgrade but fits very well for ND, ecspecially the offense. Same thing for UF as OSU except for defense
