Well, I know it is embarrassing for him, but all this does is make sure he does not get injured the rest of this season. He will still be a top 10-15 pick in the draft and make millions. Hurts Georgia a bit, but it is not like they are lacking at RB even without Gurley.

Honestly might be a good career move. He's already shown everything the NFL needs to know. I just liked that the only time you heard about him (outside of this obviously) is that the only time you heard about him is when he was on the ESPN highlights, unlike all the other divas out there.

That's actually brilliant. Vigilante justice. Doing the job that the NCAA refuses to do. Is there an IEer who lives close enough to Tallahassee to entrap Jameis Winston into doing something stupid? It shouldn't be very difficult.

Winston doesn't need any help, but apparently he has 9 lives. The NCAA, the law and FSU haven't done anything except hold him out for one game.

Praying for the young man. He seems like a good kid, probably just a stupid mistake, not anything CrimiNOLE.

I expect Georgia to vacate every single win that he's played in of course.

I'm wondering if Gurley asked for more money and the guy refused, so Gurley refused to sign anything else. Then the guy gets pissed and tries to make money selling the story?

That, or Gurley signed for somebody else after saying he wouldn't. Suddenly, the value of the first guy's memorabilia goes down, so he goes on the offensive. Classic case of the spurned enabler.

This is funny considering this morning after I heard the news, I broke into a day dream of doing this to Jameis Winston in full FSU garb with matching beard!

Sucks he appears to have been set up here. I'm actually surprised it doesn't happen more often in SEC country.

I'm pretty sure Bama swears one of their many run ins with the NCAA was due to an Auburn guy setting up players, or something to that effect...

but yeah, I'm surprised this doesn't happen constantly.

They don't need the Auburn guy, they have the Bama clown that has the men's clothing store and no one really seems to take notice.

Edit: Just found this gem. Hey Johnny, go shit in your hat.
Johnny Manziel of Cleveland Browns said Todd Gurley should be able to 'capitalize' on brand - ESPN

There is so much crap that goes on down here it's not even funny. It's kinda normal for most people. In my area for sure public high schools are "recruiting" kids from other areas to play for their team. It's so bad that some kids are transferring each year in high school for the best scenario. Some coaches are even taking it to court to be able to get some athletes.

That happens everywhere these days. Why do you think Hoover is good in my area every year? Or Byrnes from your state? Or just about any other top team in the country - public or private? Haven't seen much of the going to court to get good athletes yet in my part... been a case or two that did revolve around the High School Association rules for transferring.

In Meat Market (recruiting book by Bruce Feldman that followed Ed O at Ole Miss for a whole season), every recruit who transferred high schools was automatically red-flagged by the staff and admissions for this very reason. Lot of places don't even bother recruiting kids who constantly transfer high schools unless they're complete studs.

I don't doubt it elsewhere I just don't have any particulars so I was lust commenting really here. Our private schools are all 1A Christian schools so it's mainly public schools only. We just had a guy transfer to three schools over three years in order to play with the best teams to make his ranking as high as possible then he blows his knee out in summer ball of his senior year.

Same here with private schools. They are fairly weak in football. My school did play a private school from the NE a few years back - a powerhouse program that shall not be named - and they had players from several states. It was like playing a regional all star team. I can see how players moving several times can create issues with grades, qualifying, etc. Look at Bo. He is a prime example of how a kid gets caught up in it and fails to qualify. At least he finally got cleared and will be on campus in January.

As far as Gurley... he gets what he gets whether I agree or disagree with the current state of college football and the rules. And I hate it for him because I sure liked watching him run the ball.

As the Vols are my number 2, I sure didn't ignore it. Wish this would have happened a few weeks ago LOL.

I bet you did. But don't give up hope for the Vols. I think that coach got 'em going in the right direction.

I would not. Heisman needs to clean up its acy when it comes to selecting players who demonstrate integrity. He may well be the best player but he broke the rules and should not be rewarded.

I don't get the "give it to charity" thing. I hope he can work in 40 hours of community service with his busy class schedule.

How funny would it be if he signed autographs at charity fundraisers for his community service?

At least he's doing something in terms of punishment, all while Winston plays on like he's never done anything wrong in his life.......
