You can't trust British people, everything is backwards over there.

What with all those extra u's and driving on the wrong side of the road.

My wife and I went to London for part of our honeymoon.

We arrived after a short flight from Dublin, and it was lunch time. We asked the front desk at our pretty-nice hotel where we should go for our first meal.

They referred us to a tiny, hole-in-the-wall place down the street and across from the British Museum. They swore that we would love it.

It was owned by Russians, served Greek and American food, accepted 8 different currencies as payment, and none of the food ended up being good. It was feaux Greek and a terrible take on American.

I'm not sure if the hotel people over-estimated the amount of convenience we wanted, or if they just didn't like us and purposely sent us to this place, or maybe that their food is truly so bad that they thought this was a good option...

Either way, I'll never trust the words of the British ever again.

I have traditionally wore Cole Haan and/or Stacy Adams, but I recently got a pair of Crockett & Jones Balfours as a welcome gift to my new firm. I'll probably resole these for the next twenty years. They are brilliant. Just need another pair in brown.

Hiking - Danners
Home - Cobian flip flops
Chillin - Toms
Those are some pretty spiffy shoes. Nice.

It's not about fashion for me, it's about quality. Sure, I could buy $80 shoes from Rockport or Bostonian and wear them to shit and then throw them away after six months. But I'd much rather get $400 shoes (on clearance for $200), resole them for $50 once a year, take good care of the high-quality leather, and have them last for a decade or longer. My shoes are all on cedar trees and bagged in flannel and I wear them no more than once per week. I'll be wearing the same shoes in 2030.

I don't know how I missed this............... wizards is actually Mike Greenburg!!! Welcome aboard, man. Tell Golic to come on in next.

I like em. I've been thinking about getting a pair of chukka boots myself. Casual up the joint a bit.

Wore a boot almost identical to that back in HS in 68. We called them Louisville Correctives. Went to the taller boot in 69 when my inner hippiness started to emerge.

I had a pair of black and brown saddle oxfords (not the black and white variety that were part of the girls' uniforms at my Catholic High School around 1968/1969/1970.

My mother thought they looked sharp. I, the budding hippie, thought they were "fuck you" cool.

Got a shit load of demerits and some detention time from the Dean of Students since the boys uniform guidelines called for "black OR brown shoes, not both.

They quickly became not just "Fuck You" cool but "Fuck You Assholes."

My feet aren't made for boots. Narrow heels or some such thing. Balance can be an issue at times. Keds or PF Flyers are my go to.
